The Eclectic and Addicting Releases of Leirbag X.O.

ree

If you're not that familiar with the sounds of Leirbag X.O., then let us be among the first to introduce you to the artist and producer has built a pretty large and outstanding catalog of releases, and one of the ones I want to focus on today is a record dropped this year called The Awakening of Light.

This is an immersive 21-track release that includes everything from dance pop, synthwave, Electro pop, hip hop, rap, and more, all rolled into this one massive release, and if you listen to it all the way through, you get to sort of feel the different sides of the artist as a person, producer, and songwriter.

The first track is an intro, and it does an amazing job of bringing you into the record because it has this sort of classic hip-hop vibe with gritty style vocals, reaches into a bit of an old school style, it's got organs that fill the space, and a driving beat. These elements pull you into the song and start to give off some of the Staples that you might hear throughout the record.

The style continues through with the second track, "Burning down in Los Angeles", which has a cinematic undertone and a heavy hand, hits that rap vibe with a little bit of a hardcore style, and there's an edginess to it that is undeniable.

From these two tracks alone, you can start to tell that there's a lot of attention to the soundscape and tones of the instruments. The keys and beats are huge in terms of how the songs play out and the aesthetic that the artist is going for.

What's amazing is that the third track is called "Immersive ElectroShock", and this gives you that massive, bright, colorful, driving, and addictive synthwave and synth pop approach. The synths are outstanding; they go through transcending motion, you get this almost vintage sort of '80s outrun atmosphere from it, and it's all put together super well.

Some of the music is instrumental pieces, and some of them are definitely cinematic, giving off different moods.

"Organ Theme" is a track that certainly has a haunting underbelly to it. The organs are almost like Phantom of the Opera style, and you get that same kind of dark overtone when you listen to the track.

Just after that, you have a track called "Meditation Interlude 369", which is much more ethereal, spacious, and has this immense and vast undertone to it that sort of pulls you in and washes over you. This track also bears certain kinds of haunts and edginess, bringing out certain dark elements, but all in all, this is a very dream-esque style piece of music that can also serve very well in a cinematic format.

This is a huge record, and one of my favorite tracks out of the entire thing is one called "Injustice really ends". This track provides somewhat of a combination of a lot of the elements and attributes that the record boasts in one shot.

It is a song that features rapping but feels almost like poetry. The beat is a bit subtle and cinematic; it has a beautiful flow to it that just feels forward-moving, and the whole thing hits a particular aesthetic.

I love songs like this because you can tell they're being pulled from some real place, and that's the kind of thing that has an impact.

Now, throughout the catalog, there are different versions and updates, reprises and refreshers for some of these tracks. Some of them were older before they were released on this record, but some of them have been re-released after this album.

That's the reason for my focusing on the album itself. There are plenty of tracks from the catalog that land right here on this record, and the album does a perfect job of showcasing the diverse approaches of Leirbag X.O. As a whole.

A handful of the tracks are done with and feature DJ Horse, and you can tell these collaborations were perfect, and everyone completely understood the mission.

All in all, this was a heavily experimental blend of genre-bending approaches in songwriting and production that really takes place in a particular world. If you listen to this full album, you get pulled into that world.

Listening to this record as a whole delivers a certain kind of experience for the listener.

There are certain tracks, like some of the ones that I have mentioned, that stand out as singles. But some of the other tracks are just so experimental and outside the box, cinematically pushing, and beautifully done that you have to listen to the whole record to really soak everything in the way it was supposed to be.

I would suggest listening to this one with headphones on because there are lots of layers in terms of keys, synths, beats, lyrics, and everything else that you don't really want to miss.

At any rate, dive into this record as soon as you can because it has tons to offer, and check out some of the other releases in the catalog because other EPs and singles are not on this album, and also stand tall in terms of showing those eclectic Inspirations that have come together at different times to let the project thrive.

Check this out as soon as you can and don't forget where you heard it first.
