A Gracefully Edgy EP Release From Mossy

The latest EP release from Mossy brings with it an array of indie rock tonality along with a persona that's brimming with character and this vast and almost cinematic undertone at times that creates a particular atmosphere for you to just get wrapped up in.

The 1990 EP has as much edginess as it does color but also comes forth with this level of honesty that makes things authentic and genuine in its own way.

One of the things I love most about this record is the sheer fact that the energy levels are alive and breathing as if the tracks were recorded live on the floor and the players were feeding off of each other the entire time.

This is something you just don't get that often anymore and whether I'm right or wrong about the songs being recorded live on the floor, that energy is infectious, and it makes you want to see them live either way.

This record boasts a lot of gracefulness and beauty, and it does that in its own unique way which I find fascinating because you have this almost dripping rock feel that at times even blends in these other genres like folk rock or Indie pop but if all has a glue that keeps the songs confluent.

Another thing that's really cool about this EP is that no two songs are alike whatsoever and although that glue that I mentioned earlier is there, each song stands on its own two legs as its own thing.

Having said that, I strongly suggest that you listen to this EP as a whole because this way you can get all of that character and storyline soaked in the way it was meant to be.

There are so many different elements of attitude and swagger that are given especially vocal and guitar-wise throughout the course of this record that when it's over you just want more of it.

And this is what I mean. You can just tell by listening to this EP that this band is going to be insane to see live and it's definitely going to be something that stays with you just like the EP does a lot of the time.

This band is not afraid to be experimental, and bringing psychedelic sort of thrashing and wailing at times but those chunks breathe back down to calm moments and in those calm moments you get a different side to that character that's displayed in the first place.

This is definitely a super cool record, and the band has their own way of pushing the envelope without reinventing the wheel and I think we need more of that.

I think we need more songs that we listen to and when you do, you can get a feel for what these guys might be like live in your face.

Records that capture a certain energy and come through with an atmosphere that breeds influences together and are created with fewer boundaries than their predecessors.

This EP is a perfect showcasing of exactly that and does indeed have that gracefulness intact the entire time.

A gorgeous record with an amazing dynamic balance between hard and soft, color and edge, character and noise, take a deep dive into this release when you can, it'll be worth your time.
