A fresh new release from Wild Love Tigress brings out a ton of funk and a colorful character with just the right balance of edge and fun along with a rock backbone and tons of lush instrumentation to give the song lots of life.
"I Plead The Fifth" is an absolute soiree and will have you shaking your butt and your seat within seconds flat because that groove is deep and there are lots of awesome changes around the corners that will surprise you and keep you jumping.
There's not a lot not to love about this single and it gives the band such a bright persona and lets their presence really shine.
One of my favorite things about this track is energy because it feels like the players are actually feeding off of each other the entire time which gives the feeling of a live performance.
Maybe some of this was recorded live on the floor but either way it certainly weeks you want to go see these guys play because if they can capture that kind of energy on a recording then seeing them live must be insane.
The song is built with vivacious and massively addictive vocal harmonies that keep hooks bouncing around in your head for hours after the song is ended along with thick and bouncy horn sections that sit atop these great rock guitars which gives the entire song a unique atmosphere.
There's something about this that feels almost theatrical in a way as well which I really enjoyed because it gives the song even more life.
This single does wonders for showcasing the band's abilities to write a song that's so full-bodied but also so catchy at the same time and how they have such a youthful energy but maturity and songwriting which in my opinion is an excellent combination.
This is one of those songs that stick with you for a long time so the only way to satiate that is to listen to the song again which is just plain old really good songwriting.
You can easily tell this was built with seasoned musicians who know their instruments from back to front along with vocalists who know how to track bountiful melodies and use their voices to the best ability.
There's also a little bit of nostalgia embedded within the walls of this track which is something that I think comes from the music itself and the fact that you don't really get to hear such pure and authentic funk rock like this as much as we used to.
You can easily tell that this comes from a band that has a pure love for their craft and has an amazing time doing so because all of that bleeds through on the recording with every note played.
Everything about this was endlessly fun and if you start your day with this track you're bound to have a good one guaranteed.
The song just puts you in the right mood and makes you feel like you want to just dance down the street in front of everyone.
I think it's been a while since I've heard a song that makes me want to do that.
There are also little hints of cinematic aspects to this release like you can hear it in the scene of a film or a TV show easily.
I feel like a Wild Love Tigress is a unique outfit that takes on musical influences from different eras and it all comes together so well and naturally so that vibe is incredibly infectious.
Keep an eye out for this band because they might be releasing more soon or at least I hope they do and if that's the case, put your dancing shoes on because you won't be able to help yourself.
