The Full Length Album from Emma Lindquist Is Here

The full-length album from Emma Lindquist is finally here, and it definitely delivers the robust honesty and picturesque lyrics you expect from the artist.

This album is brimming with classic personality, loads of that inner thought process and emotion bound to almost every track, lyrics that give detail and pieces of the artist along the way, and gorgeously sculpted soundscapes and atmospheres that pull you into the record deeper and deeper the more you listen.

The album is called Hello tiger be my friend, and it doesn't waste much time, giving you some deeper cuts and getting into her version of pop attributes and sound.

"Galaxy" is the first full track after the introduction to the record, which, by the way, works amazingly, and the understanding that there are sounds across this record that you're going to get washed away with.

However, "Galaxy" gives you that first chunk of personality right off the bat. You're getting loads of that honesty, a very personal perspective, the hints and bits of vulnerability shining through, and this gorgeous aesthetic riddled with pop sensibility but brought in through different instrumentation.

From synths and keys to guitars and unique percussion, this track definitely opens the door very well for the rest of the album.

"Can't just leave like that" gives you such an amazing and descriptive story. A part of her life. A chapter of her existence that had a great impact on her and who she became as an adult.

It's not hard to follow along because of the way she articulates her words lyrically. She's brilliant at delivering that vulnerability, as I mentioned earlier, but also telling the story so that you can have that run through your head as the song plays through.

When I listen to songs like this, I get visuals. It's amazing how certain artists like Emma can do that with their lyrics.

This is a big part of why the record feels so authentic, but also relatable and connective. She's giving you these chapters in her life, and she's not holding back from giving those pieces away because this is part of the story of her.

This track, along with many others, has a very unique tone to the instruments. There's a lot of plucking. Instruments like guitars that give you additional rhythms in between the beats, and percussion.

You also have acoustic bongo-style percussion that flows through the song, and these gorgeous instrumental hooks that add more catchiness, along with helping to create the mood that relates to those lyrics.

I feel like Emma is very good at sculpting a certain kind of sound and creating brilliant moods with each song so that you're soaking in the emotion properly.

Throughout this record, there's always this expansive, cinematic feeling underbelly. There's a lot of space there. Things feel slightly distanced, and those are done by several instruments, but the way that it's put together pulls you into the aesthetic of each song very well.

This is not a record that you listen to only a few tracks off of. This is an album you listen to straight through because then you get all the chapters. It's like reading a book or watching a film.

You want to get all the stories because they have different ways of interconnecting with each other, and the ones that don't, you still understand one of those chapters. One of those pieces of her life experience that had an impact on her enough to write a song about.

This whole thing was beautifully done. It was put together with a lot of attention to detail when it comes to arrangement, composition, keeping some pop sensibility almost always there, but also putting out this heavy-handed honesty that you end up latching on to because that's the character behind the album.

It's a very sort of lush feeling. There are a lot of beautiful instruments that come together differently depending on the song, but still create that cinematic flow, and all of it is just super authentic.

Being a fan of the artist, I have been waiting for this full album to drop for a while, and now that it has, it's giving me a lot to take in.

Brilliant layers, textures, and tones along with genuine feeling vocals. Her vocal approach is a blend of indie and contemporary, as is her music at times.

She's able to use her voice as an instrument itself or to paint that picture lyrically. Either way, you're getting something that has heart, and that is the biggest takeaway from this album.

This record has loads of heart.

So, take a deep dive into this one as soon as you can because you certainly won't regret it. She's got a lot of stories to tell, and sounds to send you adrift with.

Remember where you heard it first.
