A Seductive and Dark New Single from Staytus

The new single from Staytus reaches into the depths of seduction and paints visual pictures in your head as the song unfolds into a dark-toned, industrial, and heavy rock soundscape, all accompanied by a brilliant form of storytelling that you end up getting wrapped up in.

One of my favorite aspects about this single is how gritty it actually gets. At certain points of the song, you have walls of sonic drive that are just crashing down everywhere, creating a massive and boisterous, edgy alternative feel that comes through in an almost invasive manner.

It's also pretty amazing how the artist is able to build the song up to that point. It starts much more subtle. You still have heavy-handed, edgy beats that are cutting through, as other elements of percussion and keys start building things up, guitars coming in, and the whole thing begins to lead up to that climactic point.

You can tell it's going somewhere pretty early on but where it goes is as I said, a bit darker and much heavier than where it starts.

"S+M" delivers an impactful punch but takes those haunting turns along the way.

This is an artist who always brings together the elements of industrial and metal, alternative rock, and hints of electronic.

This single is a perfect example of how Staytus brings those things together to create something that's very cinematically robust and can take intensity through the roof when needed.

Vocally, the artist gives you that seductive feel, but it quickly turns into something a little different. The allure of those vocals telling the story and getting descriptive is what pulls you in, along with the mood the instrumentation creates.

By the end of the track, it has turned into something a little different altogether. You don't really expect it to go there, but it does, and it's amazing.

The seduction turns into aggression, singing turns into screaming, and the whole thing feels almost emotionally crushing.

Staytus has always been a great storyteller. So many previous releases have been outstandingly detailed in terms of telling the story, giving personal perspective, and painting visuals.

The artist doesn't need music videos to get the point or the story across; however, this single has a pretty impressive accompanying video that really helps showcase the character arc the song delivers.

This is an important aspect of the track in general, but the video has a different way of portraying it all.

The music video also blends some of that classic Industrial showcasing into those visuals and shots.

This was a blistering track that was constructed with so much attention to detail in terms of where it starts and where it ends. The builds, the arcs, the levels of intensity, and the arrangement were all so well done that it's almost impossible to turn away from.

The heavy beats with the guitars and synths are all almost overwhelming at times.

You're just getting crushed by all those sounds, tones, and textures.

The track is as edgy and dark instrumentally as it is lyrically.

I find it outstanding how this track sets such a brilliant mood for those lyrics and the story behind it.

You have to watch the music video to really get the full picture, simply because as great as the song is on its own, the video gives you a bit of a shock ending that goes right along with the point of the single.

That's only going to say about the video because again, you're going to have to watch it to really find out.

The track is released via Cleopatra Records, and the artist worked alongside producer Sean Beavan, for working with a perfect circle, Nine Inch Nails, and more.

This is a banger of a track that is a bit elegant, alluring, sophisticated, but also gritty, heavy, and hard-hitting.

I have to love a song with some surprises around its corners, and this track delivers.

This is also a great door opener to introduce you to the artist if you're not already familiar.

If you like this track, then you're going to love some of the other releases.

I suggest digging through the Staytus back catalog after this single.

Check this out right now and remember where you heard it first.
