Gunvva Returns with an Honest Pop Single

A triumphant return from Gunnva brings a beautiful single that feels warm and welcoming with these tones that remind you of songs you grew up listening to, and with it comes a great message that focuses on getting through certain aspects of life.

"One More Time" is a song that feels like a combination of songs that you heard on the radio because it's got this vintage tonality to it, to an extent, and I love this aspect about it because it's one of the staples that the artist brings to the table almost all the time.

Gunnva almost always comes with this classic set of tones, whether they be guitars tweaked to feel sort of vintage or 80s, or old school synthesizers, it all has this almost cinematic allure.

This track also brings a bit of ambience and its undertone, which is also something that is almost like a staple of her music, and it delivers a little hint of Americana with this flowing feel, along with vocals that become increasingly more powerful and in-depth as the track unfolds.

By the time you get to the end of the track, it reaches this climactic sort of intense point, and this to me is its emotional pinnacle because she's letting that fear come into play, but she's also overcoming it in a way.

I definitely love how expressive she is in the track because it feels a little bit vulnerable, and this gives the song an authenticity that you don't always get.

There's something increasingly addictive about this track, and I love that it reaches that climactic point and brings in such a wonderful array of warm synth and guitar tones to drive the song and feed into this almost vintage aesthetic.

You can tell there's a lot of attention to detail during the creation of this track because of those tones. There's thought behind how the song will end up sounding by way of choosing the right tones for the instruments, and artists like Gunnva most certainly think of these things when creating music.

Again, we're not strangers to Gunnva and her music, so I know that she always puts a lot of thought behind the final soundscape and brings whatever is in her head to fruition.

The way I took the lyrics was more about going through certain kinds of struggles during life in general, and figuring out how to overcome them and survive. Others might take the song a little differently.

For me, there's a lot of descriptive lyrics and plenty of thoughts that are spilling out everywhere, so it felt like some of those lyrics were metaphoric and in turn, gave me the feeling that this was really about getting through tough things in life.

Like I mentioned, each listener might soak this in a little differently, but for me, the message is there, and I love how she combines such a deep, genuine message with this pop overtone because it goes to show how much thought she puts into both lyrics and music as a whole.

The fact that this track was influenced by some classic stuff is no surprise to me. A lot of her music is influenced by the stuff she must have grown up listening to, and if you listen to some of her other catalog, you'll be able to see exactly what I mean.

Other tracks like "In My Heart" boast a little bit more of an acoustic pop soundscape but also include some of these classic synthesizers, giving it that colorful pop coating and some addictive musical hooks.

She's got a method to how she writes her songs. You can tell she has that vision for what she wants things to sound like in the end, and I feel like that vision ends up becoming reality.

Overall, this was an addictive single that portrayed a lot of who the artist is as a person. She gives a lot of herself with her music, and this is no exception.

But, I would absolutely suggest listening to some of her more recent releases as well.

If you like "One More Time", then you're going to love some of these other singles she's been dropping throughout this year.

Bringing together classic tones, pop coating, acoustic and synth instrumentation, and warm vocals that give personality, this is an artist that you should certainly be paying attention to.

This is one of a handful of singles that have been released so far this year and it's all leading to something bigger.

I certainly hope it's going to be a full album because what she's been dropping so far has been enticing and just brilliantly shaping tones to create something that you want more and more of.

Either way, I know there's going to be a lot of honesty involved, and I'm certainly looking forward to whatever's next.

In the meantime, "One More Time" will certainly keep me at bay.
