Dean Denmark Drops A Deepening Rock Single

A new single release from Dean Denmark touches on a pretty deep sentiment that can be interpreted in a few different ways, but for me, it focuses on looking in on yourself from the outside, as the track feels very introspective in a sense, and displays a lot of inner thought that just comes flowing out for all to soak in.
This is an elegant and sort of cinematic rock single that has this natural and forward-moving feel and Essence to it, with distorted guitars, giving off a sort of indie rock element that's blended slightly with classic and grunge, and vocals that tell the story in a way that reaches out and grabs you.
"The Glass Bowl Test" can be interpreted a little differently than the way I did.
Realities or a world beyond the one that we know. Is the world that we are living in real? Are there other ones that are just beyond our reach?
Some of the lyrics really beg that question because the artist gets very detailed and descriptive with them. The way he articulates the lyrics is very in-depth and does beg questions like that.
The guitars are layered, and the tones of them are very full-bodied. The song comes through feeling super lush. You're able to sort of swim through those guitar tones, and at certain points in the song there's also a synthesizer that comes in and does a kind of hook, which I really liked as well, because I just wasn't expecting it.
This is the track that digs in and makes you think.
I'm absolutely a big fan of any kind of music that makes you think or feel.
That almost fuzzed home coming from the guitars is driving but also very melodic because of the progressions being played.
Again, there is a sort of graceful smoothness to how it's all performed, and even after the synth solo element towards the end of the song, this song is that it's heaviest moment, but it still has that flowing feel to it.
There is a vastness in the undertone of this track, and I feel like that's part of what makes it cinematic, along with the existential sort of questions that are brought up during its course.
Now, in terms of the sentiment, having already touched on some of the lyrical attributes that are displayed throughout the track, it also feels emotional.
The song could actually be about being bound by something in your life. Maybe not metaphysical or even physical, but emotional instead.
Being able to break through that emotional boundary that's holding you back.
I feel like that is also an element of the song as well. No matter what, you can definitely hear the emotional backbone coming through, and the whole thing has a little bit of a solid or dark overtone that gives it a bit of a mysterious aesthetic.
I like the vibe of mystery, questioning things, bringing emotion into play, and making the listener think twice.
This is the kind of track that you listen to with headphones on so you can really soak in all the layers and textures that are going on.
It's not just about the lyrics, but also about the instrumentation that creates the mood for those lyrics.
This is a huge contributor to why the song comes through the way it does and hits as hard as it will.
Throughout the track, you can hear some other synthesizers or keys coming through in the background. They sort of float through the songs either and give it even more of a filmic or semi-orchestral feel.
This is also why there's such a spacious or even ambient underbelly to the track and why it feels so layered and deepening.
Dean really was remarkable at being able to layer the instruments and have them fuse so that you do feel like everything is wrapping itself around you.
It's quite a beautiful soundscape if you ask me, and still serves a purpose, gives a message, and begs questions.
Definitely don't miss out on this one because in terms of an indie rock song that breathes cinematic tonality, this is as good as it gets.
