Clozure returns with a heavy and slightly haunting single that definitely showcases a lot of heavy-handed emotion, especially in terms of how the vocals are delivered, but also in the way that the progression evolves and how the song gives off this spacious and cinematic approach that lets the vocals take focus, and for damn good reason.
"Framed" is an absolute banger, but it has these amazing layers to it that give a lot of vast tonality.
As usual, the guitar work is pretty amazing, and yes, there is a great guitar solo with a wah effect on it that takes place before the last course of the track, and this gives a lot of really smooth-feeling melodies that come along with amazing technique.
One of the reasons I love this band is because of some of those guitar performances. The band almost always includes some amazing guitar solo or incredible hook coming from the instrument. This is important just because, for a while, I felt like guitar solos were vacant from great rock songs, and I'm super happy that Clozure never follows that path.
They're always creating songs that have either heavy-handed messages or paint a picture, amazing storytelling all the time, and the aesthetic of their songs has a unique way of wrapping itself around you.
This is one of my favorites because it branches off into a little bit of a different direction. They almost always have a kind of cinematic backbone to their music, but this one really showcases a bigger sonic presence and the melodies and progressions behind it have a certain kind of sadness to them.
The whole song is about being disappointed, in a sense. So you can hear that sort of downdraft or disappointment in terms of the melodies and progressions and the song itself.
They are outstanding at creating a certain mood for what the lyrics are.
They almost always do this as well, but this track, in particular, was really well thought out in terms of having the entire song feel like it had that mood attached to it.
The drumming is hard-hitting, but it's a slower-paced song. There's a deep pocket in how it's performed, and the kick and snare are always right there on the level with some of the vocals, so the song ends up having this deep-rooted drive to it.
It's cool because there's so much sonic texture going on between the guitars and the bass guitars. It creates such a thick sort of lushness of sound that just comes at you, and it really helps build on the emotion of the track itself.
The vocalist is always amazing, but this song definitely has a lot of impactful approach, loads of soul, and she's just sort of pouring herself out there.
You can hear, in a sense, that this came from some real place and that it's absolutely authentic.
Even if it's not, she's so good at articulating lyrics and defining stories so that you can follow along and know exactly why that emotion is happening.
This track just felt massive to me. The sonic drive, the emotional backbone, the electric textures, the soulful vocals, and this somber sort of mood that it creates, making everything feel almost anthemic in its own way.
This is a band that never ceases to impress me, and I love how they take a little bit of a different direction with each new track that they drop.
It was heavy but very melodically driven, which is nothing new for them, but this one felt more impactful than some of the others.
She is able to paint such a great picture in your head while the song unfolds. Not only do you follow along, but you can sort of connect with it, anyway.
I definitely dig the entire aesthetic that this track gives off, and it's one that really stands tall amongst their releases.
This is possibly my favorite track from the band so far, although with releases like "Walk In The Sun" and "Criminal Mind" having so much range and diversity, it's not really a comparison.
I just like the way this one felt when I listened to it. It had a lot of realness behind it.
Everyone in this band really knows how to put on a hell of a performance on record.
It's definitely one of their most amazing attributes as a band, aside from the songwriting that is.
This is definitely for people who love heavy alternative rock and metal that feels cinematic, robust, and hits with character.
