A beautifully performed new single from Chillin" delivers quite an intense sentiment in the form of a song that feels warm in a sense, but displays some honesty that can be hard to soak in for some.
"The World's Got A Broken Heart" comes from the understanding that where we are in today's world can feel off. I take this song as a testament to a lot of us being lied to or sent down the wrong path or direction.
The song, to me, feels like a track that tells us not to give up on our dreams. It comes from a place of sadness, to an extent. It's from the point of view of how we're waking up now and realizing that we could have gone for what we wanted. We could have been what we wanted. But we were told different things.
Some of those things deterred us from what our hearts told us, and that is why it feels like the world's got a broken heart.
To me, the sentiment is beautiful because it's so real and comes from such a personal perspective with a heavy-handed, widespread message that a lot of people can connect with or relate to.
Now, again, that's how I took the song. Other listeners may soak it in a little differently, but for me, the sentiment is right in my face, and again, I think it's wonderful simply because there are no walls built around it.
This is a song that displays fewer boundaries than you may be used to lyrically and really makes you think.
We need more music in the world that lets you feel and think, and this song does both gracefully.
The song comes through with a folk-rock kind of vibe, focused on acoustic or clean guitars and very passionately performed vocals, with live percussion and a very lush approach.
You have a lot of great textures and layers going on musically, and I feel like the vocals are something that display the emotional heft of the track extremely well.
They're performed with heart and passion because what the song is about, is important and means something to the band.
It's got a beautiful progression and this natural sort of flow to it that speaks volumes for the band as songwriters.
I also quite enjoy how sort of smooth the song comes through. It is gorgeous in terms of its tonalities.
You can tell that the band puts a lot of thought into the tone of their instruments and the overall soundscape of the finished product because this came together like puzzle pieces.
I also quite enjoyed this sort of live performance feel that it delivered as well.
They captured a very particular energy here to the point where it feels like the song was recorded right then and there, altogether.
You can sort of feel energies fluctuating between the band members and performances, as well as this very, one-on-one and personal effect the overall track gives you.
I sat with this song for a while. Listening to it a few times over so that I could take in all the lyrics and textures going on.
It's a song that gives you an atmosphere, and once you're in that atmosphere, you want to sort of float around in there for a little bit.
It lets you soak in the sentiment, theme, emotion, and delivery of instruments very well if you listen to this with headphones on.
This is certainly the kind of song you can pop on some headphones and get engulfed by.
I actually feel like it's important to really soak it in properly so that the message comes across the way it was meant to.
This was a wonderful single from a band that pours their hearts into their music with the intention of bringing something authentic to the table that doesn't really hold much back.
They have succeeded in all of those things.
Take a listen to this song as soon as you can, and I would suggest listening to some of their previous releases as well, because there are a lot of different sides that they showcase with their music.
Remember where you heard this first.
