A Brutally Honest And Intense New Single from Until Dusk Fades

An incredibly honest and thrashing new release from Until Dusk Fades delivers a unique approach to an intense performance, blending death and blackened metal, with a flowing and expansive underbelly, which is kind of the name of the game with this project, a lot of the time.

This is a musical project helmed by Carli Zakk, who always portrays this amazing authenticity in terms of articulating lyrics and delivering something that comes from someplace within.

When you listen to a lot of lyrics from this project, you realize they're all genuine. You realize that these are inner thoughts that are coming out, and they don't have filters; they're descriptive, even overwhelming at certain points, depending on who's listening.

I think that the almost graceful, death metal approach that this puts out there is bound by emotion. The lyrics explain what those emotions are, but the music creates the mood and overall soundscape that attaches to those lyrics.

The two go hand in hand damn near perfectly, and it's a very unique project from start to finish.

This is because of that blend of vastness and metal overtones it gives off. It is blistering and fierce, but it's also emotional and connective.

The latest track, "Love = Pain" delves into someone who feels like they don't deserve love. It feels like it's a song about someone who doesn't know if they want love because of how painful it can be. Love and heartbreak can be pretty much the most painful emotional state a person can be in.

It's so overwhelming and intense that it feels like your entire life is worthless at certain points because of what's been stripped from you. Of course, I'm referring to heartbreak or the loss of love in general.

The song digs deep into that sentiment, and the music that surrounds it is robust and thrashing.

The drums or drum programming is absolutely outstanding. The double kicks are rolling like whiplash, the guitars are melodic but edgy in their overtones, and the vocals are sort of grueling and haunting, in a sense.

This is a song about betrayal. The music displays that anger that you feel when you are betrayed.

The lyrics are deep and really do not hold back in terms of letting loose. They are dark and come from a place of giving up on everything.

Now, this is how I interpreted the song. Others may interpret it a little differently, but for me, the whole premise and sentiment were crystal clear.

The way this artist describes the pain is unreal. They are like thoughts that we've all had at some point. At our lowest points of despair.

This is completely unafraid, and that is part of why it speaks volumes.

Music like this is supposed to come from a place that has no fear of judgment because it's expressive.

There are layers of different vocals, some with reverb effect, bringing a depth to things, and others that are more close-up.

The guitars come in layers and create waves of Sonic intensity that come crashing down everywhere, and because everything is happening at once, along with the mind-boggling and fast-paced drumming, it all feels almost rambunctious.

It feels like it can't be held down. This, once again, represents the emotional impact of the loss of love or being betrayed. It's got a huge and heavy-handed punch to it, brilliantly layered and put together so that you are surrounded by the sounds that deliver, and it's meant to feel like there's no escape, because that's what it feels like in the situation described.

This is what I find most amazing about this project.

The way the music represents the same level of emotional intensity as the lyrics. This is not something that you come across often, and when you do, you hear that some of the music and instrumental aspects are held back.

Until Dusk Fades doesn't do that. It's unleashed onto the world, and that's what it's meant for.

The track is absolutely massive, with crazy riffs and a melodic backbone, and you have to just ride this wave.

It is over 8 minutes in length, and once again, it knows no bounds in terms of expression, which is the most brilliant part about it all.

This is for people who love music that gives an emotional push. Whether that be anger, sorrow, or whatever. This is something that blasts it out there so that you have to hear it.

You can feel the intensity when you listen to the song. Don't just take my word for it; turn this on. Play this song.

I would also suggest checking out previous releases from the project because they're all outstanding and the way of experimental metal and brutal honesty.

Remember where you heard this first.
