An Electronic Rock Single Release from Ugochill

Ugochill joins forces with The Turtle Project to release a single that breaks down a lot of barriers in terms of combining genres together. The song comes through with an electronic undertone utilizing experimental but addictive sounding synthesizers, along with a vastness and great spacious overlay, and it isn't afraid to get a little bit heavy as well.

The song definitely hits its rock moments with some heavier guitars and crunchy distortion, but even during those moments, you still have this sort of symphonic or orchestrated synth pad flowing through the underbelly of those sections as well.

This also helps build on that bigger and a little bit more sonically driving sound while keeping true to that spacious undertone it was built upon.

There are several layers and changes in the guitar tones, as in the beginning, the guitars are not fully distorted or super heavy, but more like lightly fuzz-toned, giving a bit of an indie rock feel.

It still has a great rock backbone throughout its entire course, and it blends that sort of edginess with a lot of flavor and color as well.

It was all very well balanced in terms of layering those tones and textures together to create a depth and still have a bit of a heavy-handed groove all at the same time.

This truck has some great vocal approaches, and they are very melodically driven. They follow along with a lot of the progressions and changes in the melodies of the song and guitars, so you get a lot of hooks because of that.

The drumming is really well done as well. It doesn't just sit in the pocket, but rather adds a bit of liveliness and push to the song itself.

It breathes a little bit of a 90s rock feel at times. It is electronic rock. That's what this song would be in terms of naming only one genre.

That cinematically backed, electronic rock aesthetic is through and through, and it definitely breeds a very full-bodied soundscape.

Some great lead guitar sections in the track are a little bit experimental, as the whole song has a little bit of a psychedelic backing as well.

This track is experimental. When these two artists come together, they're able to create something with its own vibe, but the true elements of each individual project are still always evident.

Because of that, the rock and the electronic mesh together perfectly, but it also again has vastness and a little bit of psychedelic experimentation so that things feel very wet.

Throughout some of the more delicate or subtle parts of the song, there are a lot of great vocal harmonies that sort of flow through it and are used almost like instruments themselves, building on that colorful flow.

There's really never a dull moment throughout this track. There's always a lusciousness and lots of tones happening.

Because of that, there's just a lot to chew on, but it feels good to do exactly that.

I personally rather enjoyed how the song is unafraid to really hit hard during some of the choruses and deliver a bit of a grunge feel, along with still keeping true to the electronic roots and underbellies, but always finding a way to change things up so that it keeps you on your toes in a sense.

If you're not really familiar with the music of Ugochill, then this is an amazing song to introduce yourself to.

There's always a different direction that the music branch is off into, but it always has a great set of tones and melody that sort of pulls you into the songs.

You can also tell a lot of these songs come from some pretty real place. They just feel authentic when you listen to them.

Last year's "You I Love the Most" comes through amazingly as well, with some great layers of guitars and a natural and forward-moving flow that really captures the essence and sentiment of the song damn near perfectly.

2024's "Ride of Your Life" feels a little heavier or hard-hitting, bringing in elements of classic rock but also slight punk hints as well.

I definitely suggest diving into a lot of the other music and releases from the project, simply because there's a lot to take in, and it all appeals to anyone who really likes cinematic rock music in general.

So, take a deep dive into the new single and a lot of other ones so that you can really experience Ugochill for everything it's worth.

Remember where you heard it first.
