A new single release from Alexander Pastos brings a sonic pop rock approach that's blended with loads of vocal swagger and packed with character and persona that he becomes quickly attached to not to mention the classic rock influence that comes through loud and clear from beginning to end.
The beautiful drive single is absolutely colorful and riddled with a particular energy that gives it this alive and breathing feel.
This is a very guitar-driven track, but it has such a strong and heavy-handed pop undertone as choruses and hooks get stuck in your head for hours after the song is ended and the only way to satiate that is to listen to the song again.
To me, that's just smart songwriting but I think it comes to Alexander naturally.
He's got a great attitude across the record and not just vocally because musically that same swagger is very present so the whole track has a particular presence to it that you quickly come to love.
One of the things I really love about this record is the damn near perfect blend of classic and pop rock because that balance dynamically is really well done.
You have this edginess there that pushes it over the edge just enough to be sonically thriving, but that classic songwriting approach is really evident.
You can definitely hear certain influences coming through.
This is the type of song that you absolutely know comes from a person that has a pure love for his craft and that comes through with every note played and every minute that passes by.
I think it takes a lot to be able to create that balance and catchiness while still having that hint of rawness.
The guitar work is really good and played with a tasteful approach which definitely makes you think this is someone that's been playing guitar for a long time, and you can kind of tell that if he really wanted to, he could shred but he doesn't do it on the song itself just to keep that catchiness in the right place.
Again, that smart songwriting and he knows how to capture an audience with what he's doing.
This track was a lot of fun and upon listening to it I definitely took a listen to another single he released called "Cosmic Cry" which gives off a little bit more of an alternative rock vibe but has a sort of futuristic sense to it as well.
Each of these tracks shows a little bit of a different side of the songwriter which I really enjoyed but for me, "Beautiful Drive" is the track that really takes the cake.
This is the kind of song that you add to your playlist and cruise in your car listening to.
Not for nothing, but the mix was also really well done, and you can turn this track super loud and still hear everything crystal clear.
This was a colorful, edgy, and danceable rock single that has a sense of timelessness to it which is a rarity these days so when you come across it it's very refreshing.
There's much to love about the single and if I were you, I'd keep it eye out for Alexander Pastos, because I have a feeling there's going to be more to come in the near future or at least I hope there will be.
This is an artist who's beginning to pave his way and the rock arena by his own path and for me, it's working like a charm.
But definitely have a listen for yourself so you can feel those vibes.
Remember where you heard it first.
