A New EP From Malleous Breaks Boundaries

An EP release from Malleous gives a new approach to hip hop with an ultra-creative and themed record that starts off by giving you a cinematic and haunting introduction and then bringing you into three tracks that each take on a character of their own and all of it done with an outside the box approach that makes everything feel genuine and right in your face.

The EP is dubbed The 13th and it has a strange way of creeping up on you and then wrapping itself around you and keeping you right where it wants to.

It's that character that really builds this record and makes it so unique because it plays off almost like a mixtape, but each song feels a little different than the last while at the same time, they are connected with each other as a full ep which is why I would suggest listening to this from start to finish because it's the best way to soak it in.

One of my favorite things about this record is that you can clearly tell the artists had tons of fun tracking it and laying it down because there's a certain set of energy levels stream throughout the EP that set these tones and that can only be done by again, falling into a bit of a different character with each track and to do that, you really have to be invested.

Some of these songs actually do come off a little bit cinematic and you find yourself paying attention to not only the lyrics but the music and the beats, the textures, and the tones.

I really do love a record that takes on a certain kind of theme and with this one, you can definitely sort of escape into for a little while and forget about your own reality which is something I've missed in music for quite some time no matter what the genre.

When I was done with this record, I had to snap myself back to reality again and sort of shake it off for a minute which is something I loved.

There definitely was some attention to detail during the creation of this release but it never loses that theme or that persona the entire time and that may just be the most important thing about it.

This was a really fun record, and you can tell that it was done by someone who has a real love for his craft or people who have a real love for their craft.

Either way, this is one to listen to with headphones on and this way you can really get into the mindset of the whole thing.

The EP is definitely well worth your time and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what else Malleous is going to come up with because I feel like it's going to be just as good as this one or possibly even better.

Remember where you heard it first.
