An album release from Broken Wires delivers a soiree of heavy-hitting, hard rock that spans the spectrum of classic, metal, alt-rock, and purebred rock and roll and it's all delivered with an intense and fiery energy that really lets everything come through with intensity.
The Author of Your World album wastes zero time coming in with heavy-handed riffs that are completely memorable and beckon some arena rock style approaches that leave an impact and show the band's wild side.
"Coffee Rock" is the track's title, and its hyperactive, rambunctious punk energy and approach is super evident throughout this one, which is probably why the title is so appropriate.
Part of the fun of this record is the spectrum of rock styles that it covers. You can hear different influences strewn throughout the records unfolding, and it makes it so fun because you're pulled into this atmosphere that it puts out.
Songs like "The Merchant" give off much more classic rock Style with vintage riffs and tones along with melodic vocals that all feel like a track that you'd hear in the late 70s or early 80s.
You have a little bit of a heavier edge even with songs like this, but the songwriting, approach, and aesthetic of it scream classic rock right from the get-go.
The deeper into this album you go, the more you hear different influences. You end up getting blues rock infused with certain tracks, and the attitudes and characters are always one of the strong points of each song.
This is important because a lot of rock music these days lacks a persona, but this record is oozing with it, and I find that to be one of the most addictive attributes of the whole thing.
The energy is another element that really drives the entire record. Some of these songs feel like they were recorded live on the spot together and everyone involved was feeding off of each other's energies the entire time giving the songs a sort of alive and breathing feel.
Even if I'm wrong about the whole live on the floor aspect, listening to these songs on record makes you automatically understand that this band would be outstanding to see in a live performance setting.
In other words, when you listen to the record, you immediately want to go see them play live.
This is not something you get often so when you come across it it's a little refreshing because you've missed that sort of energy on record.
Again, there is some eclectic songwriting, but it is all in the world of heavy and hard rock, so it works perfectly. This is not the kind of record where you just listen to one or two songs.
Listening to a few tracks from this album might give you a gist or idea of what you might expect, but it will not give you the full spectrum of what the album has to offer as a whole.
Diving into this record is an experience and a fun one at that, so I suggest listening to it all in one shot.
The guitar work across this entire thing is outstanding with inventive riffs but still something familiar and almost vintage about them at times, amazing technique and soul.
The same can be said for the vocals. The singing is outstanding and really helps push the band through a certain threshold so that you have memorable Hooks and choruses that feel anthemic at times, along with an added sort of closed-fisted power that is a perfect attribute to any kind of rock and roll music.
You have to have a bit of a powerhouse singer to have a good rock band, and these guys pull all the elements off.
The album spans nine tracks and is about 35 minutes in length, so you definitely have the time to listen to this one.
You don't want to miss out on any of the animated vocals, heavy-hitting guitar work, slamming drums, thick bass guitars, or just the overall energy that you get to be a part of throughout this album.
Most certainly take a deep dive into this album as soon as you get a chance and turn it up because that's how it was meant to be listened to.
It is literally an album of rock bangers from front to back.
Check this out right now and remember where you heard it first.
