A Massive New Album from J Eden Has Arrived

An incredibly vibrant new crossover record from J Eden takes some of the best elements of electronic, synth pop, house, and EDM, and blends them seamlessly into a hip-hop format that just feels alive and breathing the entire time.

This is a record that throws you a lot of curveballs and has loads of surprises around its corners. It is lush with brilliant instrumentation, robust synths and keys, and an energy that's through the roof more than half of the time.

The vivacious attitude of the artist, and the way he comes across with such a smooth kind of swagger, but so much positivity at the same time, is incredible.

This is a record that actually has a lot to say and showcases loads of personality along the way, which I think is one of the things you end up really getting attached to the most.

The album is called The Night Life, and it doesn't waste a lot of time hitting you with that intense energy with its first track, "Electric Dancefloor".

To try comes across with a boisterous and incredibly addictive sonic presence. You start to get an idea for his energy as an artist, along with that unstoppable charisma, but you also start to get a feel for how this record bends genres freely.

To me, this was a brilliant introduction to the album itself. It opens the door to let you into this other world for a good chunk of time, and this single itself showcases some of the best staples the full record produces.

The singing is gorgeous, and really just has a powerful approach to the point where certain chunks of the song sound completely anthemic.

Meanwhile, the track boasts a very cinematic backbone with vast undertones and edgy synthesizers on the forefront.

"Can't Fake The Feeling" delivers super addictive, R&B flows blended with beautifully articulated rapping that comes across with this honesty, which is a big part of why it showcases all that character.

This is an inspirational song that feels good to listen to, but a lot of the album boasts that.

This track is like a youthful anthem that comes through with layers of textures coming from all the instrumentation, but also has this sort of 90s undertone to it in its beat.

I definitely dig the influences you hear coming through as the record unfolds, and the deeper you listen, the more you hear them.

A lot of the time, the lyrical phrasing and straightforward approach to the words themselves get you pulled into the song.

I found it super refreshing to hear an album that gave off so much powerful energy and honesty, but also hit this pop-coated and driving soundscape at the same time.

Songs like "Feeling Sexy" delve into the more sensual side of things and showcase a softer, more delicate R&B approach to the vocals, which really sheds some light on a different side of his artistry as a whole.

The vocal approach is astounding throughout this entire thing. It's not just about his performances, but it's about his lyrics as well. The way he mends those two and utilizes the energy and flow of the instruments to create a mood is brilliant.

"Rhythm of My Heart" comes across as emotionally intense, and I dig that. I love how he's able to put this level of emotion into certain tracks so that you can connect with them.

A lot of the time, he's incredibly relatable, and he lets a lot of inner thought just come spilling out for all to soak in.

Sounds like this off the record feel a little vulnerable, but in a good way.

It showcases how the artist doesn't hold much back and is unafraid to speak or sing his mind.

I think it's important for us to have music that really delivers a lot of soul, the way this record does, but also it's hard with righteous pop sensibility. I don't think you come across a lot of artists that balance those two things the way this one does.

The album is like an opus, and certainly, it's all the sweet spots and more in terms of giving you loads of hooks, memorable sections that bounce around in your head for hours after the songs have ended, but most of all, once again, the personality.

It's hard to find great music with this level of personality attached to it. This was not just refreshing but a little bit invigorating.

This is a release I would suggest listening to all the way through.

The songs have stories to tell from great perspectives, and as I said before, there are loads of surprises that you don't expect.

It was eclectic and really well thought out in terms of how the aesthetic would come across in the end.

It's almost like there's something for everyone on this record.

Upon listening to it, I wanted to have a sit-down with the artist so we could talk about where it all actually came from and what might be coming up next.

So, while you listen to this album, have a read through of our interview with J Eden below.

Remember where you heard it first.

Thanks so much for taking the time! Let's jump right into The Night Life! This record came across with amazing energy that blended pop and hip hop!

Where did this album come from and what was it about?

The Album came from a idea to tell a story instead of just music. The Album is about friends going out to the Club to party, meeting a guy/gal continue to enjoy the party, then taking the person home. That’s where “The After Party” takes over, sensual music that also tells a story about the night that you share together, to the next morning.

I am hearing a few different styles on this release. Who are some of your biggest musical influences?

For “The Party” side, guys like Flo Rida, Pit Bull, and many others.

Are you performing live right now?

We won’t be performing  until sometime in the Summer, hopefully everywhere.

How did this all start for you as an artist?

Well, we’re a Trio that met each other in High School, and use to mess around and sing after school on the walk home. A couple of years later, when we see each other again, we were talking about doing some real music to put out seriously.

Did you work with a producer on this release, or was this all you?

We worked with an outside Producer on a few songs, and the other songs were written, produced, or co produced with our Manager.

What's next for you? Working on more new releases?

What’s next for us, is to get out there and perform, and maybe release a special single for the Summer.

What kind of advice would you give to other up and coming bands or artists trying to get heard?

People can expect from this Album, a Party, and Romance.

What would you say people can expect to hear on this album?

We really hope that you enjoy our project, it has a little bit of everything. Dance, Pop, and R&B music. You can sit back or Dance, and listen to the whole thing without any skips. It’s Radio friendly also. No Cursing or anything like that, just a good time.
