A Deepening New Single from Nordly

A brand new single from Danish and Swedish Duo Nordly just dropped, and this track not only boasts such a thick and beautiful cinematic vibe and emotional backbone, but it also gives you this character that you end up holding on to because lyrically, it gives you so much.

"Punctured Balloon" is absolutely gorgeous and starts off with a bit more of a stripped-down feel so that the song can build up to its full fruition.

The pianos and vocal approach both have a way of grabbing your attention and pulling you into the emotion the song has, but the lyrics can be both descriptive and metaphoric at the same time.

The way they come across feels like twin flames that are apart. Two people who are missing each other, and no matter what they do, memories of the other keep popping into their head, which can be hard to escape if you've been in the situation.

Having a strong emotion for somebody is a natural thing, and the feeling of missing that person can feel overwhelming at times, and this track expresses all of that sentiment so perfectly that you connect with it automatically.

There are two sets of vocals here. The female and the male vocals. Both, for the most part, perform the same notes with different octaves.

AnnaMia Lindblom performs the higher octave, which is a bit more on the forefront and really has this certain heart to it. The way she bends those notes, which she does often, is gorgeous and adds this flowing feel to the track.

Frederik Brieth- Mortensen also performs those same notes, but an octave or two lower, so his voice comes through very deep, which adds this very unique sound to how the singing is coming through.

You have the high and the low octaves, which give the song a certain kind of power, and I love how the song unfolds and gives you more and more as it does.

The song ends up having a bit of a brighter feel as it enters into the chorus with guitars, and it has a way of adding a bit of color to everything.

The verses have that sullen undertone because again, it's about being apart from someone that you don't want to be apart from. Or at least that's how I took it.

By the time you get to that final chorus and everything is in full swing, the song has a much more lush approach with what sounds like horns in the distant background, guitars and piano going at the same time, and both vocals hitting, giving everything this bigger feel.

The whole thing came through beautifully and certainly had a way of being vulnerable and maybe even cathartic for the duo to write and release.

Again, it is certainly something you will relate to or at least a lot of us can relate with, and because of that, you end up connecting with it along with the performance.

That emotional and in-the-moment sort of performance that's given across this track is something you just don't want to miss.

The strange thing about it is that there's some element of peacefulness to the whole thing.

Although there's a little tension, it does have this way of putting me at ease.

The chorus's melodies may be what does that, but again, the way the vocals bend during those sections sort of whisks you up and brings you alongside the song itself.

I found this song impactful and completely authentic from start to finish.

That strong cinematic vibe and aesthetic come from the emotion behind the track and the sentiment from the lyrics, which all come through heavy-handedly.

But don't just take my word for it. Have a listen to this track for yourself and do it with headphones on so you could really soak it in and take in all of that emotion to see what it does for you.

It's a wonderful experience if you ask me.

Remember where you heard it first.
