SAUVAGEONESS Ramps Up For An LP Release With A Fresh Single

If you haven't checked out Sauvageoness yet, now is your chance. The brand-new up coming record brings out heavy-handed, vast soundscapes in the form of a blend of shoegaze, metal, alternative rock, and an almost dream-pop feel that comes together to create something with its own atmosphere, which is very easy to get swallowed up by.

It's been a very long time since I've heard such a unique blend of styles and approaches on one record that literally bends genres before your ears.

Right now the single "Mary" is released to give you a taste of that heavy rock and experimental approach but I got to hear the full album and it was killer.

This is a record that holds very little back in the way of honesty and storytelling, but also delivers these almost haunting vocals and dark-toned soundscapes that you sink right into.

"Tell Me" is a perfect example of how the artist is able to bring together this almost experimental approach with delay effects creating dripping vocals, along with heavy-handed electric guitars delivering a harder-edged rock tonality, and the whole thing just wraps itself around you.

Throughout all of this, you also have an element of pop that shows face. The pop attribute of the record lurks just beneath the surface at times and then comes right out during hooks and choruses.

She delivers memorable melodies, vocal harmonies, and glints of brightness that shine through and give those songs a bit of that pop sensibility.

Other tracks like "Show Me Your Body", come through with a different kind of feel. A more aggressive, attitude-riddled style that she performs amazingly.

As the record unfolds, you get glimpses and feel all the different styles and influences that helped her create this album, and throughout it all you take this sort of massive musical journey and a bit of a personal one as well.

That's one of the things I really enjoyed about this album. She doesn't come through as being afraid to speak her mind. A lot of inner thoughts come spilling out for all to soak in, and I found that refreshing, especially amongst songs that have a bit of punch the way these do.

Tracks like "Dope" give more of an aggressive approach, blending grunge with alt-rock, hints of heavy metal, and these unique vocal layers that create thickness.

This track is one that I especially enjoyed because of her lyrical phrasing and how she bounces those words between the drums.

It's all very cool and very unique, but it does have a bit of familiarity to it.

You hear plenty of hints of garage rock and even riot rock at times, especially with songs like 'Cranes", which has unique guitar riffs and approach throughout the entire thing, along with more of those attitude-polished vocals, and it all has a bit of grit to it.

"Rather In Harmony" is the type of song that breeds more of the shoegaze approach, with those delayed vocals and very spacious underbellies. A lot of these songs have that kind of depth to them. They feel somewhat distanced.

The record has plenty of twists and turns, surprises around its Corners, and a unique approach to not just songwriting, but performing.

She does an amazing job of layering those vocals and creating that thickness, but also not being afraid to experiment and deliver the element of trippiness amongst the heaviness.

That combination in itself is brilliant, simply because it gives you a lot to soak in.

Again, she often has a bit of that pop element come through here and there, and that feels like it's inspired by a sort of dream pop approach.

You can tell that this is a record created with a slew of influences that she holds close to her heart.

She doesn't stray from the heaviness too much or the edginess. She doesn't stray from the honesty or the experimental side of things, but when she wants to showcase some pop attributes, she surely does.

This is an album you can rock out with but also sort of swim through.

It is built with fewer boundaries than whatever you may be used to, so I would suggest listening to it from start to finish.

It's a pretty big record but well worth diving into.

Now, having said all that, she's not afraid to thrash out either, as there are songs that hit it hard and fast.

So, check this out, turn it up, and sink into this deepening alternative rock record as soon as you can.

The album itself is called A Maze Deep In, and the single that's released as of now is "Mary", which is a gritty, grungy one that you can hear on Spotify right now.

The full album is coming soon, so keep your eye out for it, and in the meantime, check this track out.
