REXEN Delivers A Cinematic New Single

In the latest release from REXEN, the artist delves into elements of spirituality, social cues, and a hint of existentialism in terms of goals, dreams, and where your life is headed or should be. It's a song that digs into the kind of person that you really want to be in this world and how certain kinds of social norms may guide you in different paths or directions, but on the inside, you may be a completely different person after all.

"Hollywood" begs the question, 'Is this really what you want?'

This is something that can be taken a little differently depending on who's listening, but for me, the message is loud and clear.

I love the personal perspective from which the artist is coming from. He's not really holding much back, definitely utilizing his lyrics to send that message with crispness and without holding much back.

The song is completely unafraid and doesn't really have those boundaries tying it down. 

Again, this is how I took the song, and others may interpret it a little bit differently, as the lyrics can be taken in a more universal sense at times.

The music of this track is brilliant because it actually does bring this cinematic backbone to the table with beautifully performed string sections, not overlaying throughout the entire track or pushing things forward in a major and heavy-handed lushness, but rather coming in and out in flutters, adding hints of haunt or slightly introspective tonalities to the soundscape.

Again, the song is already something that makes you think. I'm a big fan of any kind of songs that send a message, whether it be heavy or light, because it makes you think.

True art like this is about self-expression, but it's also about being able to be free to speak your mind and send that message in whatever way fits.

This song is beautifully strong, together with these melodically enticing melodies throughout the entire thing.

What's most alluring is the vocal approach, as a lot of the time they are double-tracked, giving them a bit more of an impactful approach, but also lets you take in the lyrics more easily.

The vocals come in with beautiful bends and sways, and almost feel like instruments themselves half of the time.

You have pianos at the root of the song, and this very particular approach to precaution that gives it a sort of cultural flair, in a sense.

I found it pretty enticing because it has such a unique way of feeling full-bodied with loads of textures coming from synths, strings, piano, vocals, and more, but at other times feeling bare bones, focusing more just on percussion and vocals. It helps let the song come through feeling alive in its own right.

This was a beautiful thing in the song, and it has a great impact because of it.

Obviously, this track centers itself around the entertainment industry as a whole, and a lot of us can relate to the half-whimsical lyrics that are delivered in the course of that.

This is a track you listen to a few times to really soak everything in. A lot is going on both musically and lyrically, the arrangement is outstanding, and it's all woven in a way that lets it unfold in a flowing manner, which I found gorgeous.

This is a song meant to give you a glimpse of an upcoming album release, and I certainly am looking forward to hearing the rest of this album.

REXEN seamlessly blends in indie, dream, and experimental pop with cinematic beauty and a blissful way of interpreting things.

Listen to this song with headphones on, as it is absolutely one of the best ways to take in all of these beautiful textures happening. This is something I suggest with any kind of music that has plenty to soak in, and where you should be paying attention to the lyrics as much as you should the tones of the music itself.
