Joel Christian Drops An Addictive New Single

A brand new single release from Joel Christian delivers a heavy-hitting sonic soundscape with electronic elements that bring together facets of house, dance, pop, synth pop, and more, all rolled into one massive track that breeds a very unique kind of honesty and boasts a heavy-handed personality.

"Enemy" is a track that comes from some place within. Depending on who's listening, it can be perceived differently. For me, when I first heard it, I took it more as a self-struggle. A struggle that comes from within yourself, and you have to work that out on your own. Being your own worst enemy is something we've all done to ourselves at some point in life, so that element of how I took the song was super connective for me.

The more I listened to the track, however, I started to pick up on the fact that he may not be talking about a personal struggle from within, but more someone else that's his worst enemy.

So, like I said, it can be taken differently, but either way, it's very understandable and connective in that sense. It's a relatable song, and the energy level that comes through portrays the intensity of those kinds of struggles or feelings.

I love this simply because it's an emotionally backed song, so you know it came from someplace authentic.

Not only is this track honest and relatable, but it packs a hell of a punch. It is edgy and has high octane energy levels that come through electric, so you have that dance, electro pop groove that's deep-pocketed and makes you really want to move right from the get-go.

The cool thing is how he blends that almost emo mentality into a track like this.

Because of this, you have a little bit of a dark edge to everything, and that's just because it comes from some real place, as I mentioned before.

The synths and keys are absolutely thriving throughout this whole thing and are really the elements of the track that push everything through the roof.

The choice of tones for those synths was genius because it has a blend of something edgy and new school, but also a hint of vintage and classic as well.

That classic dance or house element is always evident throughout the track.

The song has a genius build to it so that by the time it hits even the first chorus, it's risen to a climactic level, and that intensity is right there in your face.

The vocals are outstanding here simply because they have some soul and a lot of heart. They come from someplace genuine, but they also have that little hint of edginess as well, so you're getting the best of all these different worlds throughout this single.

As the track unfolds, you get some outstanding production trickery. Some of the stuff is really cut together super well, and I love how you have the feeling of a track that's influenced by some old school stuff but has such fresh and cutting-edge style production to it at times.

The beat is outstanding because it's not over the top until it wants to be. During those heavier choruses, the beat is just pumping, and this is part of the fun of the track in general.

Although it does have a semi-serious undertone in terms of its premise, it's super danceable. It's the kind of song you want to move the couch back for so you can dance around the living room.

It's very hard to listen to this song without moving your body. If you're driving in the car you're likely to shake your butt in your seat as you hear it.

It's just got that danceable approach, and it's also, again, that energy level that really shines.

The energy of this track is just completely addicting and infectious.

The vocals absolutely match the energy of the music, which is pretty astounding because again, that level is very high.

The vocal approach, as I said before, has heart to it but also provides such a hook and chorus that it just sticks with you for hours after the song has ended.

Actually, I've been listening to this song for days, and it actually sticks with you for that long.

The only way to satiate it is to go back and listen to the track once more, which is probably just smart songwriting, but I feel like this is the natural course for a song like this and a songwriter like Joel.

This was an absolute banger of a track with elements of realism, honesty, charisma, intensity, and color.

The single also comes with an amazing music video that pushes that edginess and almost dark theme a little bit further.

I'm not going to give it all away, but we will have the video just below so you can watch it for yourself and see exactly what I mean.

Take a deep dive into this track and don't be afraid to turn it up.

Remember where you heard it first.
