Whenever Francesca Tarantino releases new music I know it's going to be something impactful because this is what she brings to the table a lot of the time. Her music is emotionally driven at times, and she's always evolving in different directions in terms of her songwriting and influences.
We're not exactly strangers to her music, and we have had the privilege of listening and reviewing some of her previous material; however, the new track is something that still surprised me.
The single is called "Hold On To Me" and although it does contain some of the staples I mentioned earlier, it thrives in a different way.
This track feels heavily influenced by classic rock and some modern pop rock but still keeps to that emotional backbone you hear in her music a lot.
The intro to the track has a great two-part guitar harmony that makes you think of bands like The Eagles for example. Even the tone captures a particular aesthetic that feels like that age of classic rock.
Again, that's just the intro to the song. Francesca herself has learned to play guitar well enough to perform those harmonies.
This is not the most surprising thing in the world simply because she's got such an intense and beautiful knowledge of her vocals and notes in general that she was probably able to create the two-part harmony on the guitar naturally.
Still, that performance and intro are perfect for the song. It sets the mood for the whole thing.
Now, there is certainly a mood when it comes to this track. It carries with it that classic intensity that she delivers which I absolutely love and adore about this artist.
Perhaps it's one of the most important aspects of why her songs are so impactful.
The music and lyrics always come from someplace completely real.
Her songs are chapters in her life and the more that she evolves, grows, and writes, the songs get better at representing how she felt during those times and how she was driven to create from those emotions and feelings.
She has a lot to say, and she does that through her music which is one of the reasons why it carries so much personality.
Her vocals are powerful on this track and the whole thing leans towards a bit of an edgy or a rock soundscape, but I like this turn of events for her. I like this style for her simply because it works with the arrangement and her songwriting style perfectly.
She never loses that heart or personality, and the sentiment comes through strongly. The rock aspect of this helps push all those things further.
This is an artist that can sing. She knows exactly what she's doing, she hits notes perfectly, she performs with passion and speaks truths.
I think this track showcases her evolution in terms of focusing more on the songwriting side of things but also on her instrumentation.
She's becoming more and more a part of the musical side of the performances and that is a beautiful thing because she always comes through with these somewhat surprising songs and if you're not familiar with her catalog then you should certainly start with this track and work your way back.
She's got some amazing and beautiful releases that will give you goosebumps.
This track was super fun for her to do. You can hear that in the song itself. She was experimenting with vocals and production, adding in all this great guitar work, and really just giving her all as usual.
I adore her love for the craft. It's not every day that you find an artist who has that kind of persistence and love for learning our instruments more or being more involved in evolving in her songwriting approach.
Really an outstanding track and again, this should be an intro for you if you're finding out about her from this article.
This is a song that really Stands Tall but all different music manages to do that only in different ways.
Check this one out and then go back through her stuff because you will not want to miss some of these previous releases.
Take a listen to this song right now and remember where you heard it first.
