"Now I See" (Unplugged version) was created in the depths of my current betrayal trauma - real, fresh, raw. I wrote this song and the others on the album BETRAYED that I launched yesterday going through hundreds of journal pages and thousands of texts, three 20+ page "good-bye" letters never sent, finding the exact words buried in the pain. This song came from one specific night 2 weeks ago when I realized I'm being built from the ruins of me. I wasn't meant to stay in grief. And neither is anyone else carrying this weight. Betrayal trauma is one of the most devastating psychological experiences you can go through. Music was the only thing I had during the worst of it - it's saved me multiple times in my life. "Now I See" is for anyone hurting, anyone struggling to find words for what they're feeling. Betrayal trauma, childhood trauma, grief that takes over everything - it's isolating as hell. Healing can take years.
