D2UR Release A Powerful Single

A fresh new track from D2UR has a particular way of filling the air with this semi-anthemic rock tonality, and the way that the band blends modern rock with a slightly classic and almost psychedelic undertone is borderline brilliant simply because it all feels so natural.

"Fire" is a song that certainly doesn't let up. The energy of this track is powerful, but sort of smooth at the same time. It's not really over the top, but that chorus is a bit of an anthem, as I mentioned earlier.

What I love about this track is the simple fact that it comes through with a groove that is completely danceable but still has that actual rock backbone to it.

It's a track that blends a colorful undertone with a slightly cinematic and edgy overtone, and I completely dig this combination of instrumentation that it brings out.

This track boasts the saxophone as a main instrument on the track. It's not just in the song for a few seconds, and then it's gone. There's a saxophone throughout this single, and I love how they make it so prominent.

It's not something that you hear often, and this is one of the things that lets you know that this band is writing music and a freeing sense.

They're not confining themselves to a particular genre, per se.

They are writing what they feel and bringing in some amazing influences to build something that has this air of familiarity to it.

For me, this track feels like it could have been released in the late '80s or early '90s. The quality is excellent, and the production is pretty pristine here, but the songwriting feels classic or vintage in certain ways.

Although it does have that vintage tone, I feel like this is just the natural way that they write.

Along with the saxophone being an amazing instrument of choice for this track, there's also some great synth work.

There's a great solo towards the middle or end of the track that combines the synthesizer with some saxophone sections, too.

The way the synthesizer is performed during that solo part has these classic bends and swells, and sways in it. It almost feels like a guitar solo, but again, I'm pretty sure that's a synthesizer.

It's the blending of tones that really makes this so special.

The guitar is the rhythm instrument, a saxophone coming through and being so prominent, utilizing synthesizers as a special feature or solo, and taking all of these textures. Putting them together, and making it work so perfectly and fluently, all make this so memorable.

You can definitely hear a lot of classic rock influence in this song. It's so authentic through and through.

The vocalist is absolutely outstanding. Everything about the vocal performance is robust and sort of in your face.

The vocals actually do lend quite a hand to the whole cinematic backbone I mentioned earlier. There's something about how they're put out there that invites you to come and not just sing along, but be a part of the song itself.

I love that almost spacious or ambient undertone that sort of lurks just beneath the surface, and how there is a hint of emotional push behind it all as well.

You can tell this song came from someplace authentic.

The guitar work is awesome and adds loads of color to the track with these sorts of Pink Floyd-style riffs bordering on contemporary or classic rock, or even funk to some.

You can hear that blues rock underbelly showing face, especially at the start of the song, where the guitars are the main point of focus.

This is also the part of the song where you hear a lot of that vastness coming through because certain instruments have this reverb wetness to them.

To me, this was a powerhouse of a track, but not in a heavier, hard rock sort of way. More in a cinematic rock sort of way. It takes you along for this ride, and you can feel some of that anthemic spirit in your bones when you listen to this one.

If you are a fan of great rock music that features instruments like the saxophone, especially. This one is for you because the sax goes pretty hard towards the end and riffs out.

I also love that by the time you get to the last few choruses of the track, the whole thing feels like you're watching a live performance.

It's got that big sonic kind of energy to it that, again, it's not overdone or super heavy. It's just alive and breathing.

Definitely a great track to check out right now.

Have a listen to this one and remember where you heard it first.
