Cadillac Moses Gives Us a Smooth Soul-Pop Single

A new single release from Cadillac Moses delivers a sort of soul-pop atmosphere that comes through vast and atmospheric along with that R&B vocal style and a forward-moving flow that just feels good to lean back and soak in.

"Pedal To The Metal" comes through with a perfect balance of energy and color as it boasts a wonderfully lash array of instrumentation and gives me little bouts of nostalgia at times because certain points of the song make me think of 90s R&B approaches and that felt kind of warm and welcoming.

The beat that's used in the song is what pinpoints that 90s style for me but the guitar work is amazing and there is indeed this sort of expansive underbelly to the song that makes it just sound really big.

There's also some great inventiveness in the production of the song that lets it all feel alive and breathing and it gives off a lot of personality and character which is something you end up getting attached to pretty quickly.

I love those vocals because a lot of the time they're double-tracked and that adds texture to the song in a particular way.

You can tell there was a lot of attention to detail during the creation of this track but you can also tell if there was a lot of soul involved, and this is indeed a sort of neo-soul pop soiree of sorts but it's got this very chill and laid-back approach that lets the song sort of swim around in the air that surrounds you.

The check also brings with it quite a heavy-handed hook that ends up bouncing around in your head for hours after it's ended and the only way to satiate that is to go and listen to the track again which in my opinion is smart songwriting but I think for Cadillac Moses, it's just the natural way of doing his thing.

At times the vocals serve more like instruments themselves and float through the ether of the song and this is something that also builds on this beautifully robust sort of atmosphere that it delivers.

Each element of this song seems to complement the next. That bass tone is outstanding and just builds and adds to that soul and almost funk undertone.

It's hard not to get wrapped up in this track it does a really good job of pulling you away from whatever you're doing and bringing you into his world for a little bit. I personally think that's like a gift in music.

The production of this song is spot on and I'm going to take a little bit of a dive into something that a lot of other reviewers wouldn't touch on which is the mix of the song.

Listen, the mix of a song like this is absolutely imperative because the track has a certain aesthetic to it and a certain atmosphere that it builds around that aesthetic.

This mix is spot on. You have such a beautiful dynamic balance of everything. The vocals aren't overwhelming or too loud.

Everything is mixed so that you get the full body of the song and not just one or two elements of it.

This was catchy, it had charisma, a smooth undertone, it came through with personality, and it felt really good to listen to.

I'm definitely going to be keeping a close eye on Cadillac Moses from here on out because this is a track that I'm going to have stuck in my own head for the rest of the day without question.

But, don't just take my word for it. Check this track out as soon as you can and listen to it with headphones on so you can really soak in all the things that are happening. The textures and layers of this track are beautiful.

Remember where you heard it first.
