Britt A.M. is excited to announce the release of her newest EP, AnthropoScene, on October 15, 2026. Her first release since 2023’s Immolation, the songs on AnthropoScene were born out of the cognitive dissonance of trying to preserve hope and curiosity during end times. A social critique that roots down in nostalgia as the world around us unravels, these songs are a stab of humanity in a sea of A.I., a love letter to a life with an expiry date, and a reflection on presence in the day-to-day, despite powerful thieves of time and attention hovering nearby at all times. “I wanted to explore my capacity for keeping a soft heart and curious mind alongside the fear and rage that living through the collapse of ecological and social systems evokes.”, says Britt, “AnthropoScene is a commentary on maintaining not just functionality, but a connected, human experience during a time when our art, hearts, and minds are being harvested and sold back to us by wealth-hoarding psychopaths through little screens. My hope for AnthropoScene is to commiserate about these systems that are dragging us down with them and to question what’s next; how can we build up better, together, when it all falls down?” Produced by Connor Pritchard with Britt Meierhofer, the musicianship shines on AnthropoScene with Britt A.M. being backed by the skillful playing of Nathan Kelly on lead guitar, Cal Hilde on bass and synth, and Justin Gendreau on drums. The opening song of the EP, “Halfway 2 Go”, is a drive through Laurel Canyon with Nirvana blasting on the radio; a reflection on what was, what could have been, and being able to ride the wave of the present. The alt-country-meets-grunge title track questions the absurdity of trucking along like nothing is wrong as the safety nets of society crumble (ie/ having to go to work when the air is not breathable due to wildfire, pollution or both). “B4 Death” is a post-punk plea for answers in the wake of realizing just how much life force is devoted to extractive systems that fail to recognize and support the individual humans who uphold them. Closing out the EP is “It Takes A Village”, a pop-punk commentary on gun violence, and the measure of a society based on how they treat their children. AnthropoScene is set for release digitally and physically on October 15th, 2026.
