An Interview With Mery Diamondz

A new single release from Mery Diamondz brings out a fresh and vibrant pop and dance soundscape that becomes quickly infectious and boasts a ton of character and color as the track gives off reggaeton undertones and a beautiful sheen production-wise.

"Don't Judge Me" comes through with a vigorous empowerment and her attitude alone lets her presence as an artist really shine but it's that character that you really latch on to and become a part of as the song plays on.

This track is incredibly danceable and will have you shaking your butt in your seat within seconds flat as the groove hits hard and with a fiery approach.

Her vocals are robust and really have the ability to grab at you and Wrap itself around you keeping you right where  she wants to.

This is the kind of track that works for so many different occasions as it feels incredible to dance to no matter what the situation.

If you're at a club, you will have no choice but to dance to this song but you can also dance around your living room and try to sing along with it as well which is almost just as fun.

The synths and beats of this track really pack a punch and give the song that little hint of edginess along with the color and vigor that the song produces.

The way her vocals mend with the song is wondrous and the whole thing has an almost anthemic feel to it at times.

That flare the song gives off is so addictive and again, that has to do with her persona and character on this track.

You can clearly tell that this comes from someone with a real passion and love for her craft and I don't just mean singing, I mean songwriting and performing.

The energy on this track is so Stellar that it makes you want to see her performing live because that must just be outstanding, especially if she was able to capture this kind of energy on record which is not an easy thing to do.

Upon listening to this track I had to take a little bit of a deep dive into her catalog on Spotify and upon doing so I found a slew of singles released this year that all show such diversity and unique sides to her as a person and as a songwriter.

Of course they all have this heavy pop feel with the same undertone of edginess in there, but they all have a unique approach and do show how she can adapt her character to the song no matter what it is.

This to me showcases her talent as a performer because she's able to give these legendary deliveries making these tracks so insanely radio-friendly that it feels like they should be all over the airwaves right now.

In case I haven't expressed it enough, no matter what you're listening to from Mery Diamondz, be ready to dance because all of her music has this particular drive to it and you won't be able to sit still.

With the release of this single, we did want to have a sit-down with Mery to find out where this track came from and what might be coming up next for the artist as well.

Here's what happened.

Buzz Slayers: Okay, let's start with "Don't Judge Me"! This track had an edgy pop style that blended soundscapes and felt genuine! How did this release come about?

I translated my life experiences onto paper, stepped into the studio, and collaborated with my producer to find a fitting beat for lyrics. Together, we refined and completed the piece. "Don't Judge Me" reflects on the individuals who doubted and criticized me, those who didn't believe in my journey to success.

Buzz Slayers: How did this all start for you as an artist?

I've always wanted to be an artist. I became more proficient in music due to my mother's aunt who was a well known artist in the Armenian society, who gave me a lot of training and instructions. I then decided to take matters into my own hands and found the top multi platinum producer, Andrew Lane. After that, my path was paved with several opportunities and continued my journey to stardom.

Buzz Slayers: What kind of things really inspire songs for you?

I enjoyed all types of music because music has the ability to empower people, such as songs on hardships, heartbreaks, love and happiness. These types of songs inspire me and personally have an impact on me.

Buzz Slayers: This release has some great approaches to it! Can you give us some of your biggest influences musically?

Thank you! My biggest influences are Beyonce, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and the business sense of that entertainment industry.

Buzz Slayers: What are you doing when you're NOT working on music?

Outside of making music, I relax to recharge from my draining work routine. During free time, I go to the gym and go shopping.

Buzz Slayers: Who's in your headphones right now?

Rihanna "Diamonds" LOVE IT!

Buzz Slayers: Are you doing any live performances right now?

Nothing as of now, however, I am planning to do live shows in the upcoming year.

Do you record these at a big studio or do you have a home studio set-up?

I record at big studios like "Drew Right Music Studios/Nfinity" and the historic "East West studios".

Buzz Slayers: What can your fans expect from you in the near future?

My fans can expect more music, merch and performances. STAY TUNED!

Buzz Slayers: Before we go, what would you like to say to fans of the music?

Always work hard to pursue your dreams, never giving up, and always believing in yourself because you can do it.
