An Interview With Keltrix

A recent single release from Keltrix hits a folk-rooted soundscape laced with natural instrumentation and a rustic undertone and is performed with a gypsy approach and is packed with character and persona along with this certain intensity that ends up growing and building into something bigger toward the end.

"Last Light" is a gracefully delivered and quite impactful single that does an amazing job of showcasing how this band comes together to create an atmosphere that you fall into and don't really want to leave.

This is one of those tracks that has some layers to it and also some surprises around the corners because as the song builds and builds, you think you get a feel for it but then it hits you with this climactic finale that ends up being very memorable.

There's something very cinematic about this track as well and it has the ability to let you swim through it at free will.

The roots of this track are in acoustic instrumentation and as the percussion and everything else starts growing the song takes on the ability to breathe and feel alive on its own.

You also end up sort of picturing Vivid things in your head as you listen to the track and that's not even because of the lyrics but because of the music itself and that rustic feel at times.

A lot about the song has passion behind it and a lot of heart as well and the longer you listen to it the more you get sucked into it but then towards the end the guitars become electrified and the song gets this heavier edge that goes right along with where it was taking you the entire time even if you didn't know it which you wouldn't the first time around.

Vocally, this track is absolutely gorgeous and there's something about the way that she sings that wraps itself around you and keeps you right where it wants to, which all lets you get engulfed by the song's complete atmosphere.

One of the things I love about this track is it's attention to detail but still comes through with a hint of looseness and a lot of that soul that it was built from in the first place.

This is clearly created by people who have a pure love for their craft which of course, is not just musicianship but songwriting itself and the way that they come together to create that atmosphere is very unique.

Not only is it easy to become entranced by this track but you also feel its power and that's something that you don't get often so when it comes along it's quite refreshing.

Listening to this song is like reading a chapter of a really good book and when you come out of it you have to react to meet yourself back to reality again which is something I miss in a lot of music.

With the release of such a beautifully woven single, we wanted to have a sit-down with Keltrix to find out where this track came from and what might be coming up next for the project.
