An Addictive New Release from Kent Dustin

A new single from Kent Dustin delivers a swagger-riddled breed of honesty but, honesty all the same as he describes someone that catches his eye and more in the form of a swing rhythm, fun and colorful rock soiree that comes with a multitude of hooks, to be honest, and also this sort of character that you end up getting attached to right from the beginning.

"Impress You" comes in with this really deep grooved riff and a sort of live performance energy that captures an electric but still kind of laid-back vibe as well so there's this aesthetic of an almost anthemic rock undertone with this personal song and I think that combination is really brilliant.

I definitely loved how the track showcases a little bit of his personality because he's nervous about the situation and figuring out what to do to impress the person that he's seeing but there's still this kind of calm, cool, and collective aspect to it.

This to me, was kind of cinematic cuz you can almost picture the situation in your head vividly while he's singing the song so I enjoyed that mental connection that just sparked up as soon as the song started because the lyrics are so descriptive and they're so relatable to a lot of us who've been in the situation of course.

I think that's something that really reached out to me with this track. The description and detail of the lyrics and how he's almost narrating what he's thinking in his head in this situation.

Really well done and smart approach to getting you involved lyrically.

Now, having said all that, the track is bursting with these guitar hooks and vocal hooks that just bounce around in your brain for hours after the song is ended and honestly, the only way to satiate that is to listen to it again which I feel like is smart songwriting but I also feel like kent just does this naturally.

I also love this kind of southern undertone that you get with both the vocal approach and the guitars as well because you have heavier guitars but you also have these clean guitars during the verses and those have a swagger to them as well.

The production is very polished and has a great Sheen to it while you still get a little bit of greediness in the approach but that's how it was supposed to sound.

It's supposed to have that edgy rock tonality which it does, but it also has that again, personal and more vulnerable aspect to it.

This track was really fun and upon listening to it I took a little bit of a deep dive into Kent Dustin's back catalog and I can say that I'm glad that I did.

Since 2021 it looks like he's released about a handful of singles and each one showcases a little bit of a different side to him as a person and the way he performs as an artist as well.

It was really fun to kind of listen to that little Evolution from then to now.

I would suggest that after you listen to this track, you go ahead and check out some of his previous releases on Spotify because it's more than worth your time.

I am someone that will be paying a bit more attention to Kent Dustin from here on out and I think after listening to the song you probably will too.

Take a listen to this track as soon as you can and remember where you heard it first.
