A new single release from Accidental Martyr gives off a beautifully warm pop-rock approach that comes across as radio-friendly, a bit personal, and utilizes such outstanding and lush tones that you get wrapped up in everything it has to offer.
"Why Be Lonely?" has a great build to it. It does have a bit of a vast undertone because there are these sorts of synth pads that float through the songs ether giving it that depth and expansive feel, the drum beat is of it hard and heavy, and I like that about it.
The drums have an outstanding tone to them and really give the song this little bit of added drive, bringing it into more of a rock platform.
This is a song that bursts into its chorus with such brightness that you can't turn away from it.
That hook is addictive, a bit anthemic in a way, and really helps post the sentiment of the track and how you can look at things in a few different ways.
A lot of us look at our lives in a particular way and can get caught up in that, and I feel like this song is telling us that we can open our eyes and look at things in a different light, changing our mindset and perspective for something more positive.
In that sense, it is a very spirited track, and I think that's something that becomes very infectious.
I love the positivity and vibrancy of this track as a whole, and there's something about it that feels special.Â
This track does have a cinematic backbone to it, and I think it's because it has a little bit of emotional push and a lot to say in its messaging.
Of course, the music gives that robust pop-rock feel, and the ambient undertone pushes that cinematic drive as well, and it all comes together beautifully.
Accidental Martyr is Richard Coutts, and I'm not sure how much he actually performs on this track, but it does feature Garrett Barbuto.
The one thing I can absolutely tell you is that it certainly was a match that worked because this song came through with a very particular aesthetic and vivacious rock approach that felt good to listen to, and also was built with a little bit fewer boundaries than you may be used to.
It was fun, packed with character and personality, had a lot to say, and that spirited energy and approach gets into your bones.
The vocals are robust, driving, and welcoming. Their tone and approach match the warmth of the music itself and I found that outstanding.
As the song unfolds, you hear additional instrumentation like keys that add a little bit more depth and also build on some of that cinematic backbone I mentioned earlier, and it all has such a unique way of blending genres together to create something memorable with its own atmosphere.
This is a pop song. It does have some other genres involved, of course as I mentioned earlier, rock being one of the main sounds, but it is all pop-coated and that helps build the brightness and the color so that it is very approachable and gets you paying attention not only to the music but to the lyrics as well.
I love songs like this because the lyrics help paint a picture or give a message or sentiment, while the music sets the mood for those lyrics.
This is a perfect example of exactly that. A track where the music sets this wonderful mood, and it gets you caught up in the lyrics, which line up perfectly with that mood.
You can tell there was a lot of attention to detail during the creation of this song, but it never loses that personality or heart that it started with in the first place, and that might be the most important aspect of the entire thing.
Definitely take a deep dive into this track as soon as you can and check it out with headphones on because it's one of the best ways to soak in all of those layers that are going on.
Check this out as soon as you can and remember where you heard it first.
