A fresh single release from Goldfish Don't Bounce recently dropped, and this track has a righteous and vivacious rock approach and attitude through and through. The song comes right in with a great ref and this endless energy that comes in the form of what I feel like is a cross between classic arena and pop rock, and it all feels vibrant and super addictive right from the start.
"Sex Crazed Freak" is an absolute banger and waste very little time grabbing you with a super fun bendy guitar intro that leads to the main riff of the song and the drums come in with a snare roll leading up to massive full bad intro and when it all kicks in and that riff is double tracked, the bass guitar is following, and the drums are in full swing, it hits like a sucker punch to the gut.
The rest of the song stays at that level. This crazy, high-octane, electric energy, and this is a huge draw for the track itself.
There's something about the way this was done that feels almost like it was recorded live on the floor and everyone involved was feeding off each other's energies the entire time, giving the song a thriving, almost live performance feeling.
The vocals come in and are as animated and colorful as the music. They hit with a bit of soul and great attitude with bouts of swagger here and there, and all of that adds to the drive of the track as well.
Although the track is only 2 minutes and 20 seconds long, you get everything you want and more out of this, including a great little breakdown where the vocals do this little rap, which shows so much character and humor, so that you know the song is loose and fun.
This little section leads into a heavier style riff before leading back into that crazy chorus once again, and it all just feels amazing to listen to because of how bright it comes through.
You can tell this is done by a group of people who have a real love for their craft and know how to write a catchy and pop-coated rock Banger without taking it all too seriously.
That aesthetic is completely nailed from beginning to end.
Having said that, the song has loads of edge and power behind it as well.
Now, as if the song itself didn't have enough character, the song comes with a hilarious music video that really shows the band's character, humor, and animated approach to doing what they do best.
The music video features the band scantily clad in outrageous workout clothes doing different workout routines and rocking out at the same time, but it's all incredibly funny.
This is the icing on the cake for me because the song already showcases some humor and outright wildness but the music video on top of that shows how rambunctious these guys are and how much fun they're actually having doing their thing.
It is all certainly something you don't want to miss.
The song itself is a banger from beginning to end, and the music video is something you should watch the first time you hear the track, so you can just enjoy what you're seeing.
Once I watched the video, I almost immediately wanted to see these guys perform live because seeing how much fun they're having in the video itself, along with how much energy the song has, it definitely makes me want to see a live performance.
This whole thing was outlandish and endlessly fun, so I suggest you check this out now.
If you listen to the song without the video, then make sure you turn it nice and loud so you can rock out with it.
Remember where you heard it first.
