A Vibrant New Single from It's Irrelevant

ree

A new single release from It's Irrelevant takes such a unique approach to a blending of pop rock, punk, and this really set of intricately performed guitar work that brings in an almost mathy undertone and creates this soundscape that becomes super addicting, all while boasting a very vibrant energy and coming through with this brightness that you can't turn away from.

The track starts off with a very melodic but extremely hard-hitting riff that is played all over the guitar neck and features a lot of high notes, yet also feels somewhat complicated in a sense. This is what gives it the math-rock tonality I meant. While this is happening, chords are giving this great progression. Then it breaks into more of the pop punk section, where you have some great verses and powerful energy, but I love how they bring in this crazy riff along with that pop punk style because it makes it very robust and adds layers to the track.

As it breaks into that first verse, you can hear that amazing bass guitar tone coming through, and that element is absolutely perfected.

This is a band that pays very close attention to the tones of their instruments and how they want the entire soundscape to feel, so they can deliver this great aesthetic that they're aiming for.

There's a lot of attention to detail like that throughout this entire track. It's super tight, performed with gusto but also heart, and feels good to listen to.

That combination of elements makes it addictive to me.

The single is called "I'M VERY FEEL", and along with bringing together these different heavy rock influences and coming through with an infectious energy, the whole thing is very lush, full-bodied, and a damn near perfect blend of color and edginess.

The vocals have a great sort of passion in how they are performed as well. They're very melodically driven and when pre-choruses and choruses come up, there's lots of great harmonies going on, creating more walls of sound and textures to the already sonically massive single.

I love how a track like this can be so bright and vivacious, but also so hard-hitting and sort of heavy at the same time.

The chorus is straight-up pop punk, and I love that about it. You can hear that that's their main brand of influence and sound, but I do indeed enjoy how they lend a hand to other subgenres and sort of outside-the-box approaches when they're creating songs like this.

The courses are also quite anthemic. They're belted out, harmonized, and the guitars, drumming, and everything else are all at full swing. So, they really know how to hit you with an impactful chorus.

The drumming throughout this track is outstanding as it doesn't just bring drive, but also more liveliness to everything. It feels like the raw elements of this track were recorded live on the floor, and everyone involved was just feeding off of each other's energies the entire time.

Even if I'm wrong about how they recorded it, listening to the track makes you want to go see them perform this live, right in your face. If they can capture this kind of energy and aesthetic on record so well, then seeing them live must be awesome.

It's rare that you hear a track on record and immediately know that they're going to be a great live band, but this is an absolute exception.

They also take some of those intricacies and bring them into time signatures, too. In the second half of the song, you have a really cool bridge that comes back with some of the math rock style punk riffs, and the time signature at that point is really unique and cool.

This is also what I mean by how the drummer adds liveliness to things. That time signature wouldn't quite work the same if the drummer wasn't doing exactly what he was doing, and he obviously knew that, so they created this really cool timing for the bridge that works awesomely, and then how they bring it back into that intro riff again is borderline brilliant.

You have belting vocals, screaming vocals, just high-octane and thrashing kind of energy that adds a bit of a rambunctious or wild aspect to the track, but it's all done with such a unique approach and tightness.

Everyone completely understood their mission here, and it's clear that these guys have a real love for their craft. The craft of writing songs together, not just playing their instruments.

This is a very unique approach to pop-punk, and I loved every second of it because to me, it was like intelligent pop punk. It was smart and driving, fun, poppy, and all came together like pieces of a puzzle.

These guys definitely pay attention to their arrangements as well and how they want the song to unfold. It was all very well planned out.

This was a killer track that showcases loads of heart and a band that is paving their own path by combining alternative rock, pop punk, and more altogether to build an atmosphere that feels like it's their own.

Dive into this track as soon as you can turn it up, remember where you heard it first.
