A new album release from Pete's Diary delivers a very sort of classic and sonically driving arena rock soundscape and it comes with a ton of endless and electric energy but also with a robust character that you end up getting attached to right from the start.
The Keep On Rockin' album is certainly titled appropriately as the record boasts a powerful rock approach with memorable riffs, powerful vocals, and loads of hooks that end up sticking in your head for hours or sometimes even days after the songs have ended and the only way to really satiate that is to go and listen to them again.
You can attribute that to smart songwriting if you will, and a lot of these songs are very smartly written; however, I think these guys just have a natural knack for writing songs this way.
There's something very pure about the rock energy coming from this record and it exudes that so intensely that it becomes quickly infectious.
Everything from the guitar tones to the slamming drums and belting vocals all seem to complement each other along with these bass lines that sometimes go for small walks but other times really just add that beefy low end to the songs but no matter which song you're listening to, there's this almost nostalgic undertone to everything that makes you feel like you've been listening to these songs on the radio for years now.
You can clearly hear all these different classic influences in the songs and this record almost feels like it's an ode to the bands that these guys grew up listening to and they've given that their own twist but the most important part aside from all of that is the heart that the record delivers.
A real and genuine rock record like this doesn't work without heart and this band exudes it on a Non-Stop basis.
You can tell this was done by a group of people that absolutely have a love for their craft and when I say that I don't just mean playing their instruments or singing, I mean writing songs together to put out into the world.
These are rock bangers that become sing-alongs, headbangers, and this energy that's given on the record almost feels like some of the songs were recorded live on the floor to an extent and the players involved for all feeding off of each other's energy the entire time giving the songs a sort of alive and breathing feel.
Of course, I could be totally wrong about the whole live on the floor thing, but either way this certainly makes you want to go see these guys perform live in your face because if you can capture this kind of energy on record, then seeing them live must be intense.
This is the kind of thing that real arena rock bands capture and that's why I sort of dubbed this record an arena rock record right from the get-go.
You can hear classic rock come alternative rock, indie rock, and a bunch more all rolled up into this record throughout the songs and this is also the kind of album that you want to listen to as a whole because even though listening to one or two songs will give you a gist, it won't give you the full spectrum of what the album has to offer.
There's no reason to miss out on a full length rock record like this one especially if you're a fan of the genre.
These guys have all the sweet spots and do so with charisma, personality, drive, and memorable riffs throughout the entire thing.
Definitely crank this one up when you can and again, listen to the whole record because if you're a fan of any kind of real rock music then this whole album is going to be for you.
I can honestly say there's not a single track that let me down here.
Turn this one up and don't forget where you heard it first.
