A Fresh Punk Banger from Damned By The Night

A brand-new single release from Damned By The Night delivers a massively fun and gothic-themed soundscape in the form of classic inspired punk rock that comes through with a thrashy goodness but a lot of other layers that are involved which as well ends up really giving off a character and that is one of the things that you end up getting attached to.

"Fangoria" definitely hits hard and shines as a horror-themed punk banger which is completely fun, and the riff is something that makes me think of old-school Misfits songs for example.

There are elements about this track that make me feel like there's a lot of different influences involved especially in the punk rock genre but, there's also alternative rock edginess in there, crew vocals, and a lot more that are rolled up into this one single.

I definitely loved the energy on this track because it was completely electric to the point where you feel like the base of this song was possibly even recorded live on the floor and all the guys were just feeding off of each other's energy the entire time so that the song came through with so much punch.

These are the things that come through as completely infectious about this single. I feel like it speaks volumes for the band as there are layers that give the song extra depth like melodic backing vocals, destructive and heavy-handed drumming. You can hear how hard the drummer is slamming on those kick drums and snare.

The bass guitar tone is everything on this track as it tends to be in true punk rock music a lot of the time. You get a thickness but it's still sharp and it cuts through a lot of the other instruments as well. If you're not a big punk fan then you might not understand that but for someone who grew up listening to plenty of it, that bass guitar tone is spot on, and it helps the entire aesthetic of the song work perfectly.

When you listen to this track you can tell it was released on Halloween for a reason. It does have a monstrous horror theme going on and it helps make the song just super fun as well.

The main vocalist is a killer because he really pulls together this animated style that is a little bit loose and a little bit edgy and gritty at times but it's so much fun to listen to you as it has all that personality and character to it as well.

I also feel like the way the vocalist does his thing is perfect for the band because the energy level is right up there with the whole aesthetic and drive of the band itself.

I think it helps that the vocalist is also the guitarist. But again, in true punk rock form, a lot of these guys sing during the choruses and the backing sections because this adds that classic punk rock crew vocal depth to the song so that you can chant along and sing along with your fists in the air.

The track has an awesome intro that starts the haunt off and then burst into that main riff and by the time that riff gets through one go around, the whole thing starts to hit like a sucker punch to the gut.

Listening to this song makes me want to go see them live because if that kind of energy is captured on record this well, then seeing them live must be completely awesome.

This single also has an accompanying music video that is completely outstanding and pushes the envelope just as much as the song does.

You get all the edgy, dark, gothic haunts along with the song, but you get to see all the visuals for it as well as watching the guys thrash out in a live setting.

You can tell that a lot of attention to detail went into both the song and the music video as well, but it never loses that punch, that character, that heart, and that love for the genre.

This is for punk rock fans of almost any kind. Listen to this track as soon as you can and turn it up because it sounds better louder.

These guys crush every aspect of this release, and I can only hope that this single sets the stage for more to come.
