A new single release from GoldCoast delivers a refreshing and robust Americana rock approach that comes with plenty of southern swag, but also with an almost classic rock backbone in a sense. The entire song mends those two elements perfectly, so you have something that feels classic and that makes it memorable.
The track is called "Angelina", and this is a song that features really robust and fun vocal approaches packed with harmonies right from the beginning of the song, so as soon as you hit play, you get pulled into their unique brand of brightness and color.
This is indeed a colorful single, and it comes along with personality as well.
This is one of the things I adore the most about the track. The personality and character come from how detailed or descriptive the lyrics can come through at times. It often helps you paint these great pictures in your head as the song unfolds, and as this is happening, you're getting these great guitar lyrics that are again, infused with that very classic rock approach but still touched with that hint of southern-kissed soul.
This is also an amazing combination.
Out of everything, the most addictive part of the entire track, aside from the bright and infectious choruses, guitar work, and lush vocals, is the energy.
There's something about the energy of this track that puts you right there in the moment.
It's almost like this was recorded live on the floor, and everyone was feeding off of each other's energies the entire time.
As much as I wish that were true, this is actually done by a husband and wife duo.
Now, this does mean that they could have done certain aspects live but not the whole thing. There's too much going on. Too much instrumentation. There's bass guitar, layers of guitars, live drums, loads of vocals, and more.Â
Obviously, there are a slew of influences involved with how this all came together.
Between the two of them, there's probably a lot of country, Americana, Rock, Blues, all that stuff.
I just love how they roll it all up into one song the way that they do.
This is an infectious, feel-good track that comes through wholeheartedly and spiritedly as well.
Both of them sing. They harmonize amazingly with each other, and maybe that's part of how they met. I'm not sure, of course, but I do absolutely love how they sound together because their vocals have different textures to them.
The tones and textures of how their vocals sound together become whole, and it's just a beautiful thing.
This is the kind of song you hear on record and immediately want to go see them perform it live.
The single has an accompanying music video that is amazing for the track itself because it showcases that spirited character even more.
The video shows them cruising across long roads in the countryside, performing live, singing with each other, and it comes through poppy, colorful, and a little bit bubbly, which is fun.
This lines up perfectly because this is a fun song.
Now, this brings me back to the whole live recording thing because it looks like they do play shows with more of a full band involved.
So, perhaps they have those members in there when they're recording as well.
All I know is that energy is captured amazingly, and it works wonders for the aesthetic of the song because it's meant to have that bit of raw energy in there so that it really shines.
Both husband and wife really let their presence come through amazingly throughout this release.
This is a single for anyone who loves real, pure-hearted, Americana rock. That's what I'm doing, this simply because it blends those elements and attributes amazingly well.
People who love that southern rock tonality are going to fall right for this track.
Soulful vocals, southern twang, rocking guitars, beautiful energy, and amazing vocal harmonies all throughout this song make it something that stands out to me.
I definitely enjoyed this a lot, and if you're a fan of southern rock, Americana, country, any of that stuff, you're going to really enjoy this song as well.
I would definitely listen to it for the first time by watching the music video, which we've taken the liberty to embed just below, so no excuses. Check this track out right now and remember where you heard it first.
