Westwell is a band born of deep roots and shared vision. Formed by singer-songwriters James and Gus Corsellis, a father and son duo, alongside producer and multi-instrumentalist Jamie Biles, the group writes and records from their studio tucked away in the Oxfordshire countryside. What began as a quiet collaboration has steadily grown into something far-reaching. Their music blends thoughtful songwriting with a rich, melodic sound shaped by indie and folk-rock. They draw inspiration from artists like The National, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and Jason Isbell, while echoing the emotional depth of poets like WH Auden, Raymond Carver and Mary Oliver. Westwell chooses the road less travelled, pushing creative boundaries while staying grounded in honesty and craft. Since releasing their first track in late 2023, they have drawn attention for both their songwriting and sound design. With several releases already reaching wide audiences and early support from BBC Introducing, they have carved out a space that feels quietly assured. With new music on the way, Westwell continues to offer songs that feel both familiar and quietly new, shaped by experience and told with care.
