Venin was formed in 1982 after a group of friends got together. It must be said that in 1980 we were already playing, and when I had leave from the army in Marne 51, we were already playing under the name Inflation and doing quite a few covers. In 1982, there were four of us and we started writing songs to build up a small repertoire. At that time, the local cultural center lent us a small space. We were already into hard rock, especially with the release of Maiden's Killers and all the other bands of 1980. It should be noted that each member had their own personal influences. VENIN broke up in 1987. 2. As I speak to you now, in November 2025, the band consists of... Jean-Marc BATTINI on guitar and vocals, Fabienne BATTINI on bass, Fabrice Boule BAUD on guitar, and Gerald FERRER on drums. Quite a few musicians have passed through VENIN. The original lineup included me, of course, and I think I'll be there until the end (laughs). Patrick LA.BRIOLA on drums. Patrick ZIAD Le Gaulois on guitar (recently deceased) and Fabienne BATTINI, who took over on bass in 2015 and 20218. So in 2015, I reformed VENIN after almost 30 years away and teamed up with Marécage drummer Vincent BOETTO, Fabrice Boule Baud on guitar, and Fabienne. In 2018, bassist Fred BOURETTE played a few dates with us, as did Gilles Botella on bass. There were also guitarists such as Chris from Heart Attack and Gérard, formerly of Jumper, etc. After the COVID restrictions, I am reviving my VENIN project in 2022, but under the name INITTAB (BATTINI spelled backwards). I am now surrounded by Lionel Bredenbach on guitar and Helene Avierinos on bass (both of whom recently left Venin). In terms of productions, there have been: 1986: the EP Passe Temps A 1984 demo on vinyl and CD with 12 tracks, which will be reissued as a box set in Mexico. 2018: an LP, La morsure du temps, and CD. 2022: an EP, INITTAB La fleur des Dieux, and CD. 2025: an LP, Le premier sang, and CD. VIDEO on YouTube. VENIN Rock trafficker. The fault of memories. Notes and words. The night of the mad. Nothing.
