The Sound Of Water

From 80s synthwave chart band to new musical waves The Sound Of Water is the musical concept of composer, keyboardist and producer Ross Alcock (H2O). Its goal is to create music and songs in a variety of different styles and genres as well as showcasing the talents of new or unsigned guest vocalists and musicians. He was formerly the keyboardist/songwriter with the Glasgow synthwave band H2O. UK chart hits include 'I Dream To Sleep', 'Just Outside Of Heaven' and 'Blue Diamond' in the 1980s and he also written music for television and film. He returned to music and songwriting in 2020 during lockdown, composing his first solo album 'Dreamsongs' which was released in 2023. Songs from the album have appeared on multiple online play lists and streams are in the hundreds of thousands. The song ‘Pirates Gold’ was featured on BBC Scotland's ‘The Afternoon Show’ and reached the semi-finals of the International Songwriting Contest 2023. The Sound Of Water formed as a band in December 2024 and recently headlined a gig at Glasgow's Ivory Blacks to celebrate 20 years of Stealth Recording Studios, Glasgow. The gig received great reviews from on-line music critics ‘Bluesbunny’ and ‘Is This Music’. The band will be performing more live dates later in 2025. The second album 'Life In Gravity Town' is out now.
