The Owl Sounds Releases Second Single “Town”

“Town” is the second single from The Owl Sounds, the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Phil Wyer, following his well-received debut release, “Oscar.”
The track looks back on Phil’s years living in Los Angeles, where he worked as a session musician. “Town” reflects on the lifestyle and sense of freedom he experienced during that time, particularly the simple moments of surfing and skateboarding around Koreatown, where he lived.
As Phil explains, the song is about “what I’d love to get back to, life is so stressful and difficult over here.” He also reflects on how surfing provided a sense of peace and how “skateboarding around Korea Town where I lived was amazing. Just the sense of calm freedom.”
Phil is now based in Wexford, Ireland, where he continues his work as a musician. He also plays guitar and bass for punk artist and producer Meryl Streek, whose third album is set for release on October 9.
With “Town,” The Owl Sounds turns memories of Los Angeles into a personal and reflective new single, capturing a feeling of freedom, calm, and nostalgia for a different time in Phil’s life.
