A new single release from Seas of Titan delivers a massive metal soundscape with intense and immersive riffs that have ways of wrapping themselves around you and keeping you right where they want to.
"Through No Fault" is an absolutely driving but also expansive metal single with an adventurous undertone. There's something that feels almost cinematic or theatrical about this track and it brings to mind classic metal bands I grew up with at times.
The guitar work is through the roof here. This is a very guitar-driven record with inventive approaches and amazing time signatures throughout this track.
The drumming is very driving and intense and the band as a whole feels super tight and seems like the kind of band you'd want to see in a live performance.
Sometimes, when you listen to a band on record, you can just tell that they would be intense live. This is one of those bands.
The vocals showcase a lot of range and passion. They are performed with a gusto, especially when they're belting out memorable melodies that stick with you long after the song has ended.
The whole thing has a great flow to it and combines the power of unique melodies and harmonies with edginess and heavy metal riffs so that you have something that encompasses a soiree of heavy rock approaches all in one track.
There are certain points of the track that serve as the calm before the storms. There's a little bridge/breakdown section towards the end that comes in giving you a drifting, dreamy feel but, you know it's going to be explosive when everything comes back in.
This is exactly what happens. When the song comes back you get super heaviness with a great screen to bring it back into play showcasing the band's incredible energy and intensity.
Although this is a super tight track the energy level feels almost like they recorded it live on the floor to an extent. I'm sure if this was the case, there were overdubs done after but it just feels like these guys were feeding off of each other's energies the entire time and this gives the song the essence of being alive and breathing.
I love the attitude of the vocalist boasts. I like that he's not afraid to let loose and get fierce, but he also loves being melodic and bringing this different tonality and energy to fit in with the heaviness and edginess of the band.
This is a combination that works well during this track and he does showcase some amazing range.
I can hear several metal influences flowing through the veins of this one single track. There are three or four different sections put together really well and create this song as a whole but it also delivers an atmosphere along with it.
That atmosphere is something that you don't want to leave.
This is a fist in the air banger of a metal release that really has amazing and intricate musicianship that lets you know this band is serious about what they do.
This was a bountiful and full-bodied metal single, and I loved hearing those different influences throughout its course.
You can tell this was the track coming from a band that has a real love for their craft, and when I say that I don't just mean playing instruments or singing. I mean writing songs together. Songs that are impactful and heavy-handed which is exactly what this is.
I would listen to this track twice or at least three times so you can really take in everything it has to offer.
There are plenty of layers and textures to be soaked in and the whole thing packs one hell of a punch.
Take a deep dive into this track when you can and remember where you heard it first.
