The Honest and Drifting Music of Siri Neel

A brand-new single release from Siri Neel brings out a classic and vintage '80s pop soundscape and the aesthetic is completely nailed from top to bottom as she blends it with a dream pop approach and in doing so creates an entire atmosphere.

"I'm A Maze" is certainly a very personal track and I think it takes a lot to release a song like this because of how honest the artist is and how upfront she is about it all.

I feel like this is where true artists shine. When they release something that gives off a little piece of herself, Siri does exactly that with this track.

It does have little hints of rock backbone as there are guitars in there along with these vast and open synth pads that let you float right alongside the soundscape of everything and it feels wonderful to do so.

This track also has one of those great sort of flows to it where it breathes a little bit so the verses are the personal parts and you get attached to the lyrical content and the song feels a little bit calmer before it swells into this vaster style which all comes together very well, especially in terms of the dynamic balance of everything.

This is a track that's very easy to get a little bit engulfed in as it has a wonderful way of wrapping itself around you and keeping you right where it wants to, especially with the textures and vibes of the sounds themselves.

Her vocals are beautifully done and serve almost like an instrument themselves giving an angelic and drifting approach to the undertone of the song.

There was something very sort of warm and welcoming about this track and it has to do with some of that personality that shines through because when you listen to it you feel like you understand exactly where she's coming from.

This is because she's letting those inner thoughts out and expressing her struggle which is something that a lot of us tend to have, and sometimes they feel pretty existential but we don't always know how to articulate them into words let alone music which is why a song like this is something that you do relate to and can actually make you feel a little bit less alone in certain kinds of struggles.

This is quite a beautiful connection to be made musically and Siri does an outstanding job of giving a soulful and passionate performance that feels very warm.

I feel like we need to listen to artists like Siri because she is giving us a song that has a lot of emotional backbone and drive to it so it comes through genuinely.

I think we need songs that we can piggyback off of and call our own in a sense. This song expresses a lot, it has layers, and it shows so much for Siri's presence as an artist.

The song is vulnerable and authentic so I would suggest checking this one out and doing so with a pair of headphones because then you can really drift with the emotional waves of this track properly.

The single comes as a little bit of a prelude to her full album release which is set for October of this year and I from one will definitely be looking out for that.

Dig into the single now as it just came out and remember where you heard it first.
