If you are not too familiar with the music of Kirsten Kirk then let us be among the first to introduce you as they have some amazing releases under their belt including one we heard called "Whiskey & Wine", which has a very unique way of bordering Americana, country, and still has this cinematic undertone along with breeding such beautiful honesty and delivering such personality that you end up getting attached to that above everything else.
One of the things that really grabbed me about this track is its ambience. It's got a very fast and cinematic undertone to it, and you end up getting engulfed in it very quickly.
There are all kinds of amazing guitar work going on throughout this track, and along with that, you have such a wonderful percussion element that focuses a lot on the snare and uses that as a time signature for the rhythm, which really works wonders for this track and how it flows naturally.
It's very outside the box in terms of how it all comes together, and as the song unfolds, it becomes a bit more intense.
Towards the second half of the track, you start getting string sections coming in, and this thickens up the atmosphere and brings in even more emotional drive somehow, which really wraps itself around you sonically.
It's all very beautifully done, and Kirsten has such a soft but passionate vocal approach throughout this song, which again, helps bring out that personality.
The way they approach vocals here is almost like an instrument itself, the singing adds this beautiful layer of texture to the song that already has that expansive and lush feel, but it brings a new tone to everything.
That tone also delivers gorgeous melodies, and you end up feeling a lot of that emotional backbone when you listen to it.
This whole track had an immense soundscape that slowly built up, and I feel like the song's arrangement is everything here.
You can clearly hear there was a lot of attention to detail when they created this one, but it never loses the heart or soul that it began with in the first place, and that might be the most important aspect of the entire thing.
After listening to this track, I checked out some more and came across a song called "house on fire", which portrays a bit of a different side of who they are as a person and their artistry as well.
Now, they do not lose that soul. The soul is very in your face on this track, and their vocals are less subtle and soft and more out loud and belting.
They cries out vocally on this single, and it really comes through with a beautiful intensity that pulls you right in.
This track features more electric guitars and some harder hitting elements, but still has that emotion behind it where you can tell they are giving a piece of themselves in the music.
Listening to their songs is like hearing chapters in their life.
As I said, they certainly put pieces of themselves into their songs, and this gives you glimpses deeper into the character and personality they portray.
They are wonderful at letting inner thoughts spill out for everyone to soak in, and once you get hooked on a track, you're going to love the rest of their catalog.
There are a few other singles released that you can listen to on Spotify, and each one of them gives you a new glimpse into who they are, which is totally refreshing.
It's a combination of the soul, passion, but also that honesty that drives these songs. They all feel like they came from some authentic place, and this is part of why you connect with them so easily and quickly.
I would start with "Whiskey & Wine" and from there, check out the others, but some might like "house on fire" a little bit more because it has more intensity and fire behind it.
Either way, you're definitely getting that emotion and beautiful vulnerability that they give off with their music.
Check all of this out as soon as you can and see how it affects you.
Remember where you heard this first.
