Tarabud Delivers a Classic Synthpop Single

A brand-new single from Tarabud delivers a vivacious and character-riddled synthpop soundscape. What's most fun about this is that it reaches into this vintage 1980s pop approach and works wonders with that aesthetic.

"LA You're My Girl" is built with classic synths and keys along with a bubbly and bright vocal approach that lets this song feel alive and electric.

Some would call this bubblegum pop While others would call it dance or send pop but to me, it blends all these elements together and comes through incredibly danceable indeed but also brings in elements of different styles under the pop umbrella making this a super fun and very memorable track.

Her vocal performance on this track is just so colorful and right in your face that you can't turn away. It's wonderfully done and has a great drive to it with this sort of ode to that classic pop songwriting and its undertone and this combination is something that hits really well with me.

The track itself lyrically is a love letter to LA. It's got such detail and description in some of those lyrics and there's so much realism and honesty there too that anyone who has lived there can relate to a lot of what she's saying in the song.

There are plenty of things about LA that are difficult. Like any major city, there is plenty to deal with but there's always that promise and that sparkle in its eye that keeps you coming back for more.

Being someone who lived in LA for 10-plus years, I can totally understand the entire concept and sentiment of this track. It's ups and downs. The ins and outs. And how you have to really push yourself to find the right kind of opportunity, but you also have to be in the land of that opportunity as well.

I love the way she approaches this song lyrically because to me it makes perfect sense and is incredibly relatable. It will be for anyone who has dealt with that or followed their dreams to LA.

The Perfection of the lyrics really comes in the following second verse of the track because the first section of the song focuses a lot on the beauty of it all. The excitement for those opportunities. That magic of everything around you.

By the time you get to that second chorus you still feel a little bit of that, but the struggle becomes bigger and it's really about how a place like that can break you in a certain way as well.

This is what is so attractive about this track in terms of those lyrics. They're just super honest and they really don't hold anything back.

I am a big fan of any kind of music that breeds that kind of straightforward honesty so that you get both sides of the story and Tarabud nails this factor perfectly.

At any rate, the song is super vibrant, charismatic, energetic, infectious, and again, very danceable indeed.

I definitely adore her entire approach and mindset for this song and how she created this to have both sides of the story but still remain so, sort of, bubbly.

The production across the board is really well done. The song is woven with a lot of attention to detail, but the vocals still provide this kind of personality and heart that add to the drive and attraction of the song as a whole.

Upon listening to this track, I took a bit of a deep dive into her back catalog on Spotify and I'm glad I did because I found several outstanding releases there

The releases start with an album called Demons in 2006 and if you listen to how she evolves over the years musically, it's pretty amazing.

There's an outstanding track released last year called "California" which really grabbed me.

I feel like if you really get into this new single, "LA You're My Girl" then there will be a lot from her previous releases that you will enjoy as well.

Another track released earlier this year called "Walking on Glass" was outstanding as well.

As I went through her previous releases, I definitely found that she's honest with a lot of her stuff and gives little pieces of herself in her music which I find very refreshing.

Take a listen to this track and then check out some of her previous releases because it's well worth your time, to say the least.

Remember where you heard it first.
