Stefano Pesapane Drops An Honest New Single

A fresh single from Stefano Pesapane manages to deliver an incredibly silky and smooth R&B flow, blended with hip hop seamlessly, but all while keeping this particular kind of energy afloat, so that you end up getting engulfed by the soundscape that it delivers, along with its wonderful and sort of warm sentiment.
"About Her" is a track that feels polished. Everything about it comes through in a very radio-friendly manner, and that goes for both the vocals and the instrumentation.
You can clearly tell there was a lot of attention paid to the little details of this track. The mix is outstanding; it's loaded with all kinds of spacious synth pads and keys, along with guitar that is riddled across the single, giving it a little bit of extra depth and beautiful layers of color.
The song was built very well. This is someone who's able to sort of sculpt his sound and hasn't come through with the aesthetic he's aiming for.
Another thing I really enjoyed about this track is the simple fact that it feels like it blends old and new school approaches together. The beat, for example, is sort of classic. It's got a great tone to it; it's strong, it adds a little bit of Drive, but it's not over the top, making sure that once again, that energy is flowing in a forward-moving manner.
The whole thing has a natural flow. The vocals are a huge part of that as well.
The vocals come across with a lot of swagger, but it's also very smooth. The wrapping sections are a little animated. They're not hardcore or edgy. They're more submissive and storytelling, which is really important with a track like this, because the whole sentiment is about how the people that you have relationships with help build what you become as a person later on in life.
Now, this is how I interpreted the song. Others may take it a little differently, and that's part of the beauty of songs like this one. Whoever the listener is may be going through something particular in their life, and depending on what that might be, they might take the song in a little differently than someone else.
I loved the sentiment because I think it's completely true. I feel like the people that we have relationships with in life help determine what roads to take, decisions that are made, and the way we act later on.
It's funny how you don't really pay attention to the little things. Every person that we get close to, whether it's a romantic relationship, friends, family, or whoever, all have an effect on our own persona.
This is something we kind of forget about along the way. And when you think about it, this could mean the same for the people that we had relationships with. Maybe we affected their personalities in the same way.
The track is laced with all kinds of great lyrics that are a bit descriptive; they do tell a story, and they're easy to soak in.
The whole song has a delicate undertone, so everything feels soft, sort of Jazzy, smooth, and again blending some soul with R&B, rich hip-hop that fits perfectly.
The R&B vocal parts that are sung are really powerful. They're passionately performed, they have a bit of emotion behind them, and they're still catchy. This is a song that's got different kinds of hooks flowing through it.
I love how Stefano can really layer in certain effects to the vocals and the instruments so that the song comes through with a bit of depth and some vastness.
There are certain parts of the vocals that have a reverb effect on them, along with certain elements of the instruments, along with those spacious keys in the background. All of this lets the song feel almost cinematic and again, very layered.
It's a full-bodied and lush single that really feels good to listen to and is quite infectious in terms of its energy and approach.
I think most people will look at this as a love song. Which, in a way, it is. When you listen to those lyrics, it's clearly about a girl.
But it's more about the effect that girl has had on the person involved.
Now, if you're not really familiar with Stefano's music, then this is an excellent single to really introduce you to because it's got some of the great Staples a lot of his music has.
I would definitely suggest checking out songs like "City Lights", released just last year, along with 2024's "Say It Again", which are both amazing and showcase different sides to how the artist writes his music.

Where did this song come from and what is it about?
“About Her” came from reflecting on the lasting impact that meaningful connections can have on who we become. It is a deeply personal tribute to the women who have shaped, inspired, challenged, and influenced my life. Each experience, memory, and connection has left its mark, and this song is a way of honoring those moments and the people behind them.
Do you produce all your own material, or do you work with an outside producer?
I produce all of my music independently in my own home studio, taking care of the entire production process myself. I’m also involved in the video and promotional production, which allows me to maintain a consistent creative vision across the music, visuals, and overall presentation of each release.
Is this normally done at a bigger studio or a home DAW setup?
Everything is produced through my laptop and DAW in my home studio. From the initial ideas and production to the final arrangement, I work from my own setup. This gives me the freedom to experiment and develop each track at my own pace while maintaining complete creative control over the process.
Who is performing on this track with you?
The track features a blend of my own voice and synthesized voices, incorporating new technologies as part of the creative and production process. This combination allows me to explore different vocal textures and create a distinctive sound that complements the emotional character of the song.
Do you normally write the compositions before the lyrics?
Usually, I start with the lyrics. The words often give me the emotional direction and the foundation for the music. However, it really depends on the inspiration and my mood at the time. Sometimes a melody, sound, or musical idea comes first, and the lyrics naturally develop from there.
This track was laced with R&B and hip-hop but with a lot of soul infused. What kind of music do you normally listen to?
I listen to a mix of Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, and more recently, Neo-Soul. I actually grew up listening to a lot of Jazz, which has had a strong influence on my musical taste and the way I approach music. Over time, I naturally moved toward other related genres, including R&B, Hip-Hop, and Soul.
Who are your biggest influences when it comes to songwriting?
As mentioned, Jazz has always been a major influence on my songwriting, and Steely Dan and Donald Fagen are particularly important sources of inspiration. I admire the sophistication of their compositions and, especially, the way they construct their lyrics and combine words with music.
Another major influence on my production is Prince, among many others. I’m inspired by his creativity, versatility, and fearless approach to blending different genres and sounds. All of these influences continue to shape the way I write, produce, and develop my own music.
Are you already working on new material for upcoming releases?
Yes, I’m currently working on several new projects, including collaborations with some major artists through my record label, Bentley Records. At the same time, I’m focusing on producing music specifically for sync licensing, exploring opportunities to have my music featured in film, television, advertising, and other visual media.
In addition to my work as an artist and producer, I’m also an authorized A&R representative with Bentley Records. I really enjoy discovering new talent and listening to emerging artists, so I’m always open to finding fresh voices and interesting new projects.
Do you ever do live performances, or is this primarily a recording project?
It is primarily a recording project at the moment, with the focus on creating and producing new music. However, the door is definitely open to live performances in the future. I’d love to explore the possibility of bringing the music to the stage and creating a live experience around it.
Is there any sort of advice you would give to other artists getting out there?
My advice to other artists would be to stay consistent, believe in yourself and your vision, and keep going even when the results don’t come immediately. It’s also important to take care of yourself and stay as healthy as possible, both physically and mentally. A creative journey is a long one, so you need to be able to enjoy it and keep moving forward.
