Simon DM is a guitarist, producer, and composer based in Seoul, South Korea, with more than 20 years of experience spanning major-label releases, independent projects, and the virtual idol scene. Throughout his career, he has worked as a session guitarist on recordings and live performances for major Korean artists and idol productions, developing a reputation for technical precision and versatility across a wide range of genres. He launched his solo career with the EP The Creation in 2011, followed by Mind Control in 2019—an instrumental record exploring themes of self-discipline, reflection, and personal growth. After undergoing two cholesteatoma surgeries, Simon lost around 60% of his hearing. The experience fundamentally changed the way he approached music. Rather than relying solely on what he could hear, he began composing through vibration, physical sensation, and the memory of sound. Over time, this became a defining element of both his creative process and artistic identity. Released on July 1, 2026, Temporal Paradox is his first solo release in six years. The cinematic instrumental metal track explores emotional loops and the tension that builds within them, transforming an internal struggle into an immersive listening experience shaped by Simon’s unique perception of sound. Following its release, Temporal Paradox received international support from Amazing Radio (UK), reviews from Time For Metal (Germany) and Rock Culture (Spain), and airplay on Radio Saint-Dié (France) and La Hora del Terrock (Mexico). Time For Metal praised the release, noting that “even without vocals, the sounds have character and stay with the listener,” recognizing Simon’s emotionally driven and cinematic approach to instrumental progressive metal.
