A brilliantly produced new single release from Sander Sanchez comes through with a massive sonic presence, along with addicting, deep-pocketed grooves that will draw you into the track, delivering edgy synthesizers, robust atmospheres, and spacious undertones that all come together seamlessly.
The cool thing about a song like this is that it blends pop subgenres. You have alternative, commercial, Indie, and dream pop all mending together and giving you something almost otherworldly, but still incredibly addictive.
The vocals are super boisterous. They can be loud, belting, and they call out, especially during those choruses, and you listen. This is a single that feels insanely radio-friendly.
The song boasts all kinds of lush instrumentation from those keys and synthesizers to clean pianos, pads, and more. This creates a sense of depth and provides you with some really cool little breakdowns in bridge sections where you can hear different kinds of influences coming into play.
It definitely doesn't hold back from hitting on some experimental approaches, with some amazing production trickery and effects on both instruments and vocals at times, showcasing the ability to build something that feels familiar but still slightly outside the box.
One of the craziest parts about this track is the bridge towards the end of the song. There is a bridge section that all of a sudden drops in and comes through with a really fast pace. It's almost like house or techno, with a very electronic aesthetic, dropped right in this section of the song, and you just don't expect it to happen, so when it does, it's really huge.
This is also what I mean when I say experimental. This is avant-garde and unafraid to branch out, go places you wouldn't expect, and hit with colorful but still edgy approaches.
These are all some of the aspects about the track that make it stand out.
It's got surprises around its corners and layers of incredible textures due to the keys and synthesizers that really breed something unique.
The track is called "The SUN", and it focuses on aspects of dark and light. The lyrics are about this huge intensity that you get drawn towards, and it's very powerful in terms of what you can do with it. It's a fire that you play with, and depending on your actions, it can either work with you or against you.
I think this refers mostly to different aspects of life and how, at times, you wake up with this particular kind of drive.
For me, the sentiment was more along those lines. The understanding that you have something that you want to go for, and when you get that fire in your belly, you tend to jump at it, and you need to be careful how you approach those kinds of things.
It's great to go for what you want out of life, but it's also important to make sure that you have a bit of a plan for your actions.
I love this aspect of the lyrics because I connected with it so much. Now, this is just how I interpreted the song. I think others may interpret it differently, but for me this is how it hit.
This was incredibly well put together, built, and arranged. It has a huge amount of builds that come up to climactic points, again, surprising elements that are completely unexpected but really refreshing, and just an overall outstanding approach to songwriting and performance through and through.
This is a single that definitely portrays some high-intensity emotion as well, but sort of sugarcoats in certain ways so that you can actually understand and relate to what's going on.
Now, if this is your first listen to Sander Sanchez, then I also suggest checking out tracks like "Two Spirits", released earlier this year, as it shows a little bit of a different side to his artistry and personality as well.
All in all, Sander is a person who puts pieces of himself into his music, and this song definitely serves as a great door opener for the rest of his music.
So, check the stuff out right now and remember where you heard it first.
