Rosier, a female-dominated Montreal collective, perfectly embodies the expression “between tradition and modernity”. With a strong airy, poetic and soaring bent, the quintet brings a unique touch to today’s indie-folk. Their repertoire of modernised folk-trad songs showcases female voices expressing current values while remaining anchored in their roots and mixing indie sounds with a touch of pop. Rosier’s tight-knit band has been performing as a group for over a decade, formerly under the name Les Poules à Colin. The group has played in over fifteen countries around the world, released five albums, including the album Légèrement in 2021, and has garnered four major nominations, including one at the ADISQ gala and three at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. This fall, the band releases elle veille encore, an introspective album exploring the maternal spirit in an ethereal folk universe tinged with dream-pop and indie-tronica. Accustomed to local and international tours since its beginnings, the quintet has, to date, shone in major cities around the world. Events such as SXSW, Edmonton Folk Festival, TSB Festival of Lights (New Zealand), Rocky Mountain Folks Festival (USA), Port Fairy Folk Festival (Australia), Tønder Festival (Denmark), Festival Pause Guitar (France), Bardentreffen (Germany), ITINERARI FOLK (Italy), Bromyard Folk Festival (UK), Edinburgh Festival Fringe (Scotland) and Francophonie Games in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), to name a few, have hosted their performances.
