JORREM www.jorrem.com Jorrem is the artistic alter ego of GERMANY-born Joerg Meuther. Music has always been his life, many years of world music with Arab friends, extensive tours around half the globe, then side projects with the masterminds of m.walking on the water, among others. In 2007 he took up vocal studies at an institute in the Odenwald, where the techniques of bel canto are still administered and trained his voice in the classical subject of baritone. In 2013 he began an artistically oriented psychoanalysis to deal with the painful experiences of childhood with the early death of his father and growing up with his mother. It was here that the long-lost songwriting reawakened to express feelings of loss, grief, love and vulnerability artistically. In 2020, shortly after the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, he began work on his own album and produced 25 new songs in his own little-birdland-studio in Cologne-Ehrenfeld, from which he assembled the album. For mixing and mastering, he sought the assistance of Thorsten Rentsch, who has all the analog techniques in Cologne's Renaissance Studio to give Jorrem's music warmth and presence, and Jürgen Lusky, highly decorated mastering expert at HOFA, who added harmony and unity to the songs. With "J'arrive", Jorrem now presents his haunting debut album in the fall of 2022! Deeply touching songs, reflecting all colors of the soul, carried by an unmistakable vibrato-rich and at the same time fragile voice, sometimes tender, deep and fragile, then again rising to enormous heights playing, sounds, somewhere between classical, pop and chanson, at home in the same universe as the music of Radiohead and Antony and the Johnsons. Musically orchestrated by acoustic guitars, piano, bass, mellotron and strings, the pieces develop an often fragile beauty full of melancholy and hope, always in search of urgency and intensity. J'arrive is a brave record, not following any trend, exceptionally international sounding for music from Germany, sung in French and English, the most beautiful musical languages on the globe, timeless music now waiting for your discovery!
