Growing up in Southwest Nebraska, she was drawn to the sounds that filled her home and community—Country, Classic Rock, and R&B. Influenced by legendary artists like Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Linda Ronstadt, Pat Benatar, The Eagles, and The Doobie Brothers, Janelle developed a deep connection to melody and storytelling through song. She picked up her first guitar at just seven years old and never looked back. Over the years, she expanded her musical talents to include piano, clarinet, and drums, eventually playing in her school’s concert and marching bands.
