James Tonic is a Montreal-raised, New York-based dream pop artist with a sound built on analog synths, live drums, and lyrics that don't flinch. Comparisons to Cigarettes After Sex, Lana Del Rey, and The 1975 have followed consistently. His 2024 record Stuck In LA sold out its West Coast touring run. Safety (2025) followed with a 60% Spotify save rate and 20,000 first-week sales across nine tracks. Safety II (January 2026) deepened the sound with darker production and more cinematic arrangements. The two albums have crossed 2.2M streams in under five months. The Safety Tour runs November 2026 through February 2027 across 15+ North American cities in intimate seated theaters.
