Hotter Than June

A need for connection and creativity brought Illinois based rock band Hotter Than June together in 2005. Five friends influenced by emo and post hardcore bands such as Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail and Thrice - Hotter Than June shaped the connection to their fans through engaging live performances and emotive lyrics. Over the course of the next three years, Hotter Than June released two EPs: Leave All The Pretty Things Alone and Back Seat Classic. Divorce, college and distance contributed to the band going their separate ways in 2008. The members grew up and put down roots. They started families and careers. But, the desire and craving to create and connect never fully went away. Ironically, in June of 2022, Hotter Than June decided it was time to resurrect a part of themselves that had been lying dormant for nearly 14 years. And in 2023 they released four singles, Glass Water Pill Swallow, Sweet Revenge, Culprit and What If We Change. The musical fingerprint that is Hotter Than June is still found in their lyrical content, melodies and music. However, all of the singles are unique from one another and have their own story to tell. Their latest single, Waiting For A Revival was released on March 8th. The song is about the revival of the band, but also relationships and religion. As a virtual band, they write and record everything from the comfort of their own homes. The song was mixed, mastered and produced by their bassist Anthony Vieceli. Mixing consultants were Dave Rowland and Joey Alarcon (Wolves At The Gate/Born Through Fire). Nick Detty (Wolves At The Gate) is featured on the track as a guest vocalist.
