Gilwain
Gilwain is a traditional singer-songwriter and folk-rock lyricist based in Liverpool. A home birth, inside a Toxteth slum, Gilwain suffered the harsh reality of life as an autistic person who was not diagnosed early. Their lyrics are influenced by their autistic mind - an influence also evident in their self-choreographed videos based on real images of them throughout their lifetime. Although Gilwain wrote a few poems over the years, partial lyrics to many of their songs were always floating around inside their head, but because of their dyslexia, they didn't know how to manifest them. Working alone, as one might expect given their background, in 2026 they turned to AI tools to recreate the instruments they needed. Gilwain sings all their own lyrics and carefully, in great detail, conducts the tools they use.
